Been through a few discs. . . (Hello Disc Alternative!)
I’ve tried the pixie and the lumma disc. I loved them, but the strings felt annoying to me. However, when I cut the strings on these products, I struggled to remove the discs, as the “bulbs” on the end of the strings were no longer there to help me with removal. This lead me back to the hello disc.I loved the hello disc because it didn’t have the strings—it had a pull tab— so I didn’t feel the same annoying strings below my cervix. However, my hello disc put pressure on my bladder, causing generalized discomfort. For me, the rim was too firm. Bodyotics was the disc to fix this problem for me!I’ve seen a few people say this disc was harder to insert, and I would agree—but only because the rim is more soft and gentle (try a lubricant to help if you need)! I would definitely recommend trying the hello disc due to ease of insertion, but if that disc causes discomfort, I’d recommend this disc! It’s affordable and has a pull tab! It’s the “goldilocks” disc for me, personally! (It’s similar to the soft disc but has a pull tab! I love the soft disc, but it was really hard for me to remove.)(As I side note, I’ve also used cups. Everyone is different, but discs were way easier for me!)I hope this helps! Love that this brand is so affordable!EDIT: I tried the ecoblossom disc after I had a leak with this disc. The ecoblossom disc was also too firm for me, so I came back to this one. With all my discs and cups, this is the one I come back to because it’s soft, and I don’t feel the pressure against my bladder. Definitely the perfect disc for me but wish they made a round shape, too!

Been through it, these are the best
Mom of three. Tired of using throw-away products and spending money on uncomfortable options. I've tried different tampons, pads, period panties, cups, and finally, these. I haven't bought or even thought about another period product since. They're flexible, easy to clean, so comfortable I don't even feel them. I did some research about how to find the best fit and combination of features and landed on this brand. Getting two different sizes, and carrying cases, for less than the cost of other brands was a huge bonus, because I have used both sizes interchangeably.Like other reusable period products, these may have a learning curve if you're new to the product. There are plenty of videos available out there to help the beginner feel comfortable, and I'd recommend watching at least a couple before you take the jump. It took me a few cycles to really get the positioning right before I got zero leaks, but once I did, I was able to go swimming, take long car rides, and go hiking with the disc in. Like a good old silly tampon commercial, except these actually are comfortable, even if the other symptoms aren't. Speaking of, as someone who once suffered from debilitating cramps that only got worse after having kids, wearing the flexible disc definitely contributed to my cramps losing intensity. These are easier to remove than a cup. They don't have suction, so there's no awkward "omg am I sucking out my soul" when removing.

It's probably great for a very particular demographic of people
The concept is great, I'm a bigger girl and even the small one was too big and I'm sure there is a learning curve anytime you try something like this. I would say you will be more successful than I was if you have excellent dexterity, have a larger space to maneuver your body-perhaps squat and hike a leg here or there and be prepared for some mess. I didn't like how my body reacted to this product -didn't exactly maintain my ph balance. Also if you aren't able to full fist yourself or if you have short finger or long nails..just know you will have a but of a challenge. Other wise, they feel.soft- cute packaging-excent instructions- I hope I find one that works for me

There’s a learning curve
I had used period cups before but not a period disc. They’re slightly different in placement so there was a learning curve. It took me the first full day of my period to learn the correct placement of the disc. I wore a pad to be sure that if I did leak while I was figuring out how to use the disc I wouldn’t bleed through or stain my clothes. After getting the placement down, it was very comfortable to wear I couldn’t feel it most times. It was easy to exercise with it in and it self emptied when I used the restroom (which was odd at first but also very convenient). It was also easy to clean and disinfect. The carrying case it also so convenient.

Easier to use than the cup
I was hesitant to give this a shot because I wasn't sure how easy it would be to insert and remove. I am so glad I decided to give the disc a go! It is really very easy to use compared to the cup. With the cup, it took me quite a few cycles to perfect the insertion. With the disc, I'm feeling pretty confident using it with my first cycle! With the cup, I was always paranoid it didn't open up fully after inserting or it would take a while to get it to open up. With the disc, I just insert and once it's tucked in above the pubic bone, I'm set! No more spinning the cup around to ensure it's fully expanded. Just insert disc, tuck above pubic bone and I'm good to go! However, removal is still messy for me and will require some more getting used to.Also, the disc seems to hold more and there is no leaking. None. With the cup on my second day, I usually have to empty after about 5 hours. The disc went the full twelve with no spillage/leakage. And this disc is cute. I like the little case that comes with it; makes it easy to slip into my purse. I use the large as I'm over 40 and have had a child. If you're looking to make the switch from tampons and pads, give this a try first! . I honestly wish I'd tried this before getting the cup. This was cheaper, comes with two sizes, is great quality, and is really just all around an easier product to use for me.Remember to do your research! For some, anatomically, the disc is not an option. For example, if your pubic bone is not prominent enough to tuck the disc above, the cup may be a better option for you.
