Does it have to be against a window or can it be against a wall?

We have ours up against the wall in the extension and the signal is fantastic. Great product. Go for it.

This found 45 channels. Can I use an amplifier with it?

Hello, It really depends on the specifics of your area. You might be able to acquire the missing channels by manual retuning your TV/receiver box, in which case you will not need an amplifier. I bought this aerial coming from a all4one aerial indoor. And now when cars go pass my signal and strength goes to 0. I have a slx booster.

I had anindoor bunny rabbit aerial and it got so bad that then zero signal. I bought that NASA one and it is simply brilliant! Occasionally there is tiny tiny bit of interference, but hen I move that aerial slightly and Good to go again. I highly recommend thi one. Plus the Cusyomer service from the seller is great too.

Would it work in a basement?

Reviews of several similar products categorically state that TV signals cannot penetrate into a basement. You'd have to arrange for the receiver to be placed somewhere higher, where there is a good reception, and use a long coax lead down to the basement. The signal should be strong enough to pass through 40 meters or longer of coax.
