Interesting series
I'm just getting a good start on the series and am enjoying them immensely so far. I look forward to completing the series. So far I love the social concerns that you bring forward in your writing.

Enjoyable
Lovely series. Ghostly disturbances need Sam and Lacey to solve the problem. Serial killets, witches, murder, child abuse - despair, agony, and unfinished business disturb the atmosphere and Sam and Lacey work to solve the problems. On to the next.

Star Walk by Melissa Bowersock
An old haunted Hollywood mansion is being rejuvenated and the owner has enlisted Sam Firecloud’s help in clearing the spirits out. To do this he needs Lacey Fitzpatrick’s investigative skills to figure out who is haunting the mansion. Sam feels two different spirits who are haunting different areas of the house and both have stories to tell, which date back to the early days of Hollywood.I loved the way this story unfolds. It was like watching a mystery on screen with clips of old black and white movie footage from the past as Lacey pieces together what’s going on. And since Lacey and Sam both have day jobs they could only be at the house on the weekends. That was frustrating to me, like having to watch commercial’s, because I couldn’t fast-forward through their week. I know Lacy needed time to do research and then let her findings stew in her head while she tried to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, but still…I like the way Lacey and Sam are starting to read each other better. It’s like they are syncing. There is a lot more story here than the ghosts and Ms. Bowersock is able to seamlessly weave in a story arc that involves Lacey’s ex-fiancé, who is still serving time in prison. I also appreciate the inclusion of Sam’s two children and what’s going on in their lives. This brings a realistic feel of family to the whole series. Nicely done, Ms. Bowersock. I am really enjoying this series and looking forward to “Dream Walk.”My dream for Lacey and Sam to both become independently wealthy so their ghostbusting could be a fulltime job together. I know that is not very realistic but I am a paranormal romance lover…FYI: “Star Walk” is the third book in A Lacey Fitzpatrick and Sam Firecloud Mystery series. Book one is “Ghost Walk,” book two is “Skin Walk.” Each of these mysteries could be read as a standalone if you choose. However, I am enjoying the relationship developing between Lacey and Sam and recommend reading from the beginning to get the full benefit of this storyline. **Originally written for "BigAl’s Books and Pals" book blog. A Medium and a Cop?
I never thought that I would leave a positive comment about a book that has a medium as a main character; but I am. This set of books has a Anglo-Navajo and a retired LAPD detective working to free ghost from whatever keeps them tied to earth. The stories are possible situations and the descriptions of how Sam, the medium, finds theghost and the research Lacey does to help free the ghost shows a great partnership. They're an amazing easy read and an enjoyable way to pass an evening.

I Loved It
In the third book of Melissa Bowersock's A Lacey Fitzpatrick and Sam Firecloud Mysteries, they are called to an Old Hollywood mansion that is haunted by ghosts. The new owner sunk all her money into redoing the mansion into luxury apartments but unless she can rid the ghosts from the house, she stands to lose everything. In the middle of investigating this, Lacey is contact by her ex-boyfriend, a former detective who confiscated drugs and turned around and sold them on the street and is now prison for it. It seems he is worried about this mother who is now in a nursing home, has no phone and is cut off from everyone but her daughter. This is a highly engrossing novel and I read it in one day. I have read all three novels in the series to date and have enjoyed each and every one of them. This is one of my new favorite series and I can't wait for the next one. They are well written, well plotted mysteries with great characters. If you like mysteries with paranormal elements I think you will like this one.

A very enjoyable series
I have quickly read the first three of these mysteries and am ready for #4. The two central characters are both people that I want to read more abour, and the expanding web of connected characters makes it even more interesting. Not a violent set of mysteries, so far -- other than a certain skinwalker -- but the paranormal able is a good change-up from others that I have read. I also wonder where things are heading with the two central characters.

The world of private investigation for Lacey Fitzpatrick is sometimes not a cake walk
One of Lacey and Sams more challenging investigations as of late. If you are a fan of Sam and Lacey in this series you will not be disappointed. This book as well as the others in the series could stand alone, but then you wouldn't be able to enjoy the growing relationship between them. It seems old Hollywood has some secrets it wants kept in place. Finding a way to bring those secrets to light takes a great deal of finesse and ingenuity on the part of Lacey. Getting closure for the living can be painful emotionally. Because of the location of this investigation, it seems Lacey is struggling to help her ex partner in the LAPD who is in prison. She wants nothing to do with him, but can not refuse to help his mother whom she really liked. A problem in the family that our elderly should not have to happen to them.I love Melissa's style of writing in this series with bringing the characters to life, the sub-plots and the growing character relationship.
