Unfortunately what could be a useful device is hampered by poor app software.The only way I could make this work is by wifi while at home, you are supposed to be able to control it remotely by setting up an account on the app.However every time you try to register an account and password, the app says week wifi, which wrong as I am sitting next to my router with maximum signal.When you read the reviews on the Google app store this seems to be a known bug, though the developer does not respond to any feedback.EditAfter complaining to the software developer I got the app to work and it is almost fine now, I say this as I still get an error message when using the app away from home.It's just a bit frustrating that the app spoils what would be a great device.If you are not interested in controlling the plug remotely when away from home, click the skip wheel in the top right corner of the screen when you open the app and it can be programmed locally via your wifi, but not remotely.

I like to use this plug to switch off my son's TV and PlayStation in his room when he is supposed to be doing his homework. It works fine and does what I want it to do. I control it on my phone through the app it tells me to install. Connecting the smart plug to my phone was not as easy as the instructions showed, and I must admit I nearly gave up at one point, but thank God I didn't. Now that it is up and running it is actually a genius invention, and I may get a couple more to use around the house. A smart plug like this has so many uses, and I am sure everyone will have these plugs in the future, or there will be smart wall plug sockets.

Dosen't work with Alexa, but ok as a wifi plug once you learn it on to the wifi! It took me about 3 hours to get this working. I searched for device's that would work with alexa and this one came up as one in the search with a picture of the Amazon dot.It appears that it may at some point be able to work alexa so I will be keeping them because if it does then they are currently half the cost of one's that do work.Also the app is free and works well.

Does exactly what it says it does. I'm now able to switch stuff on and off at home from anywhere, using my iPhone. Very useful for turning the heating on an hour before I'm going to be home. Brilliant.Update. I discovered that the timer function does not work on the iPhone app. Other reviewers have also noted this. This severely limits the usefulness of this plug. Sort the app out please.

I love it! Very easy to install even for me. I downloaded a QR reading app, and then was able to follow the clear instructions given with the item so it was all set up within minutes. And now I'm able to switch on my electric blanket as I leave work after my night shift and come home straight into a cosy warm bed. Also I was impressed to receive a very nice follow up email from GangWang Electronics so that I can easily contact them in the event of any issues.

Good product, does what it says, lasted around a year so farOnly issue is the app is not great, does what you need it to but needs refining

Amazing product for the price. Had an issue that Gang Wang responded to several times very quickley. I couldn't set the timer on the app however the issue was a simple one in the end. Changed to 24 hour clock in the phone settings and worked immediately. The app doesn't like the 12 hour clock. Just in case anyone else has this problem.

I just bought a second one of these plugs having been impressed with how easy they were to use. I have both set up to activate at various set times and they can also be turned on and off at any time whether I'm on the home wifi network or away from home via 4g. Recommended.
