One Blood Ruby (Seven Black Diamonds)

Was delighted to find another series by Melissa Marr after falling in love with her Wicked Lovely series. I've yet to read this, but it sounds right up my street with more mysterious fae stories. I was pleased with cheap price for a hardback book. I was delighted to discover that this (and it's sequel I also purchased from Amazon at the same time) were both first editions! Considering I didn't buy this at its time of release, I'm really happy that I got a first edition.

Good series - great quality

Second book, not sure if there are more to the series. This is not a standalone, you need to have read the previous book. The spot light shines on multiple characters and switches around to give you a full view of what's happening, but it's not confusing with the changing characters. This volume ties up many story lines from the first book. We learn many new things about all the characters, some good, some "well I didn't see that coming" moments. If there is another book that's great, but if not Ms Marr left her characters in a good place.

I felt like the story lost it's momentum through this book. Especially concerning Eilidh. Her story was running with a fevered pitch, then it just fizzled out. I needed closure. Still enjoyed the book, even if the ending was sappy.

Again a timely message about the destruction of our environment through the eyes of the fae. The tale is full of betrayal, heartbreak, love, surprises, twists and turns, love of family and environment and a lot of excitement. I can't wait for the next book!

Great second book. Nice ending to a delightful story by Melissa Matt. Love the fantasy worlds she creates. Pulls you right in.

Another great story. Book two of the Seven Black Diamonds. Can't wait to read three.

I ordered this through kindle which was super quick. So this is more so about that than it is the actual book. Lol

Really enjoyed this series....hope there's more.
