Superb watch
I was in the market for a watch to bring with me on a sun holiday. Requirements were pretty simple, 200m water resistant for diving, inexpensive, steel bracelet if possible. I had planned on ordering the more popular Casio MDV 106 though getting your hands on that in the UK is tricky to say the least and I wanted to avoid excessive shipping costs and customs. This watch popped up as the best alternative. The watch came packaged in the standard Casio packaging which is best described as functional if spartan, it was well protected but far from well presented. However once the packaging had been shed this watch really hits its stride. First impressions were very positive, it feels like a solid watch. The stainless steel casing has a satisfying heft which gives the impression that this is a dependable and rugged tool watch. The bracelet compliments the face nicely and feels secure (after I had two links removed to make it fit properly). The uni-rotational bezel is easily adjusted to measure dive time with each adjustment giving off a series of audible “clicks”. The time and date can be adjusted by unscrewing the crown which has to be screwed back in tightly to ensure water resistance. I did find the crown guards made it a little difficult to unscrew the crown initially though fortunately I haven’t had to change the time or date since I got the watch. Casio are known for producing reliable quartz watches and this seems to be no exception, in the 3 months I have owned it, there has been no discernible gain or loss in time and I can’t see it becoming an issue until the battery runs out a couple of years down the line. While I didn’t have the opportunity to bring it for a scuba dive I have been swimming with this watch on several occasions in both pools and the sea. There was no leakage or signs of any moisture inside the watch. Given the reputation of other Casio watches as dependable dive watches I am pretty confident that this watch should stand up to its 200m rating and I plan on testing that as soon as I can. Given its price point this is an outstanding watch, but it is not without its faults. The lume has been impressively long lasting to the extent that I could read the time in a dark room when the watch hadn’t been exposed to light in over 6 hours, that being said the lume is not particularly bright and getting a quick read of the time can be tricky in low light conditions. I have also noticed a small scratch on the bezel which I was quite surprised given that I have been quite careful with the watch. I think the watch may just be a little prone to scratches. These complaints are admittedly extremely minor but I felt they were worth mentioning. The MDT 105 is an incredible watch at this price point. Its features and finish are that of a considerably more expensive watch and truth by told it has very few flaws. I can whole heartedly recommend it and I will be happy to periodically update this review should anything pop up. I have attached a few pics that I took while on holiday as I sometimes find that Amazon’s pics don’t do a watch justice.

Great Watch, Great Headache
The watch is self is absolutely nothing to worry about for the price point, a great value for money purchase. However, for those watch noobs out there like me, here’s a few tips. 1. Unless you can clamp down the watch to remove the pins in the bracelet, you absolutely NEED another set of hands to hold it, otherwise it is virtually impossible to remove a pin from the bracelet. 2. Don’t try force the crown (the dial to adjust time) away because it cannot be done. Instead be EXTREMELY careful with some pliers and loosen it to as far as it’ll go, then you can pull on the crown to make adjustments. These issues I discovered after but once the headaches were gone it’s a great purchase for the price point and cannot complain.

Very solid dive style watch
This is a good diver's style watch for the price. Good points ... 1) Very compact watch. It is a small size for a divers watch with numerals at 12, 6 and 9 and the date at the 3 o’clock position. The date window has a silver border. It all adds up to an easy-to-read face. 2) This has a screw down crown with crown guards and claims 200 meters of water resistance and so should be able to handle any wet conditions with ease. 3) Has a uni-directional bezel with a notched outer ring to enable you to rotate it. The bezel has a stiff movement and should stay in place once set. Has a pleasing click when rotated. Minute/second markings are on the bezel. 4) Uses mineral glass so not easy to scratch. Bad points ... 1) The bracelet is very loose with plenty of play in the links. At this price c40 GBP you cannot really expect better. This watch in my view is better than the bracelet so you could swap it for something of higher quality if you choose. 2) This could be a pro or a con, but it is quite heavy on the wrist. The average watch weighs around 60 - 100 grams this one is 145 grams. Overall, for a 200-meter dive style watch this is incredible value for money at c40 GBP. Compact and good looking on the wrist. Let down by the bracelet. Could be a more wearable alternative to the Casio Duro which is bigger and heavier.

Rotating bezel not useable.
Great watch. Easy to read on the black background. However, rotating bezel completely useless as it Rotates on it own throughout the day because the mechanism is so light.

Really, REALLY good!
Except I would not trust this otherwise attractively priced Casio dive watch to full immersion in the sea because its screw-in crown does not have a greased waterproof O-ring gasket. 'Water Resist 200 metres'? Hmmm, I doubt it. Honestly, this robust good-looking timepiece would probably be okay for showering, but make sure the crown remains well screwed down before you step in. Edited To Add: I removed the stainless steel bracelet because it looked cheap, and replaced it with a really good looking 20mm wide grey Nylon Watch Strap, NATO Zulu 1 Piece Bracelet Strap costing £12.99 - and what a huge difference it made! This watch now looks fabulous! In fact, it looks far more expensive than what we paid for it. My husband is thrilled. I bought it ahead of his Birthday this February. Without that crappy-looking stainless steel bracelet the watch weighs quite a bit less. Luminosity is pretty good, lasting a full 6 hours before dimming down. I think it is Neobrite. To maintain a bright lume the watch would need a few seconds under a very bright torch. This Casio Collection dive watch is highly accurate and good looking. The blue version is even more impressive, but the choice is yours. Thank you for reading.

Comfortable, waterproof, accurate great looking watch.
This is a great watch. Looks good on the wrist, I have a small six inches wrist but this fits fine and not as bulky as the measurements might suggest. I had a couple of links removed from the strap by a jeweller and fits perfectly. Has a satisfying bulk, and so far proved watertight and a screw down crown on a watch of this price range is a great bonus. I am wearing with the supplied braclet but have tried it with a silicone strap as well, which I will use when swimming etc., and it looks very sporty. I own several high end divers style watches, but wanted an 'everyday wear watch' and this is perfect. Keeps accurate time and for the price brilliant.

Well Recieved
I took advantage of the one day delivery. The watch was delivered within the specified time slot the next day. The packaging was more than adequate for the watch. I chose four stars as, over all, I am happy with the watch’s design, water resistant rating and the clasp on the wristband. The only thing that I believe lets the watch down in the ‘winder’ in that it is a little small for the size of the watch and due to this your fingers tend to slip on it when undoing or fastening it up again. The feel of the winder isn’t as good as the feel for the whole watch and could do with a re-design. If the ‘Winder’ was better I would have given it 5 stars. Most watches of this price with a rotating bezel I find tend to rotate both ways, I am happy to find that it is a true uni-directional bezel and suitable for ‘rough’ timing of dives. In my opinion this watch is suitable for someone who does the occasional shallow dive but mostly for those people who like to swim with their watch on to enable them to keep track of the time.
