Prevent hot solder from going on the work surface. It has many small trays to separate the small items taken apart such as small screws.

For the projects with a multitude of little pieces to track for reassembly, this is the “thing” that retains your sanity! I especially appreciate the magnetic sections. I work on micro-electronics constantly and have always needed way to just keep the stuff I take off the part in some way that helps me reassemble it with no extra parts left over! I can attest to the temperature resistance! I have my soldering iron set about 700 degrees F and have no issues with drips or inadvertent direct contact with the mat. It folds right up (or rolls) and stores without retaining the curl - BONUS! Just is a great work area that cleans up well when it in use.

I use this a lot, I didn't realize how much use I would be getting out of this, so well worth the price. I really like how durable it is, how it has various spots for components, and the magnets are useful for holding important small metal parts.

Provides a work area that keeps surfaces safe from heat and keeps screws and parts organized while you work. The flaps for closing in things seems a bit useless to me but maybe someone else will find them useful.

Works well for my needs. Great product.
