What is "natural coffee flavor"?  Does this have actual coffee in it?

Flavor houses extract the flavor components from all natural ingredients in order to create natural flavors. In the case of natural coffee flavor, the components of coffee flavor are extracted from a number of ingredients that include chicory and even, believe it not, garlic! Who would imagine that coffee and garlic share the same flavor component?

The expertise of flavor chemists allows them to extract only those flavoring components that they require from natural ingredients without getting many other components of each source that don’t contribute to the flavor. Thus it is possible to produce coffee flavor without the caffeine or acidity found in coffee beans. Watch out though for coffee flavored ice cream, yogurt, etc. because these foods usually contain a coffee concentrate or even ground coffee beans that do have caffeine.

Why are the teabags alway (for years) torn or break in the cup?

We apologize for any torn tea bags you may have received. If you shake the envelope, it will lower the tea bag to the bottom of it so that the bag doesn't tear when you open the envelope. However, if you see a seal on the top where the string it or sides of the tea bag, this is a manufacturing problem. We use a tea bag paper that is made without plastic, but we admit it doesn't seal as well as the paper that has plastic. We are working on a solution to monitor the sealing better with an electronic eye as it is hard for the machine operator to catch every bag that has a sealing problem when they are running at 100+ bag / minute. Again, we apologize and are happy to replace any tea bags that are not sealed properly. Please contact our customer service team at Teeccino!

What countries are the sources of the ingredients in the Dandelion Dark Roast tea?

Organic carob is wild harvested in Spain and Morocco where the trees are native. Organic chicory is grown in both India and France. Organic dandelion root is wild harvested in Eastern Europe. Organic ramon seeds come from wild trees that are part of the upper canopy of the rainforest in Central America. Our ramon seeds are wild harvested in the Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala. when is the manufacturer going to fix the open side seal problem?  going on for months now and tea falls out of bags!!! have to staple it shut!!

There are 2 reasons why you may be finding Teeccino tea bags having an open hole. We recommend shaking Teeccino tea bag envelopes before tearing the top which prevents the tea bag itself from being caught when opening the envelope. Our tea bags hold 3 times the weight of standard tea bags so they are much heavier when they are wet. Thus we recommend removing the tea bag with a spoon to prevent the string from tearing out of the bag due to the wet weight. In 2017, we began manufacturing the tea bags in our own manufacturing facility and we had a learning curve for a period of time. We now have very good procedures that protect against issues with the side seam of the tea bags not sealing correctly. If you do have a problem with an open seal in any tea bags you buy from Teeccino, we request that you contact our customer service via our website so we can replace them for you.
