This bulb was added to the porch light fixture and is perfect in light where a higher wattage was just too bright.

These 40 watt equivalent bulbs work as described. The built in light sensor turn the bulb on when it starts to get dark, and turn it off when its getting light. Be aware that placing in darker, shaded locations, or under overhangs, may affect the on/off times. That's just common sense and to be expected.Light output is as expected from a 40 watt equivalent bulb. The 2700k color temperature is the same as the soft yellowish light emitted by an old school incandescent bulb, none of that garish, retina frying blue/white that looks so repulsive in most settings.Put these in your outdoor lights, leave the switches turned on, and never again worry about coming home to a dark porch or stairs because you forgot to turn on the lights before you left. Energy efficient LED bulbs use less electricity so they'll save you money, and they typically last for years longer than regular bulbs.

So far light bulbs appear to be working great. Color is good and perfect for our outdoor light at front door. On a dusk and off a daylight in the morning, keeping the front door nicely lit and also some security. Will update the review in a year to see if the bulb is lasting a long time.

They work perfectly

Work great… as described. First bulb lasted 3 years 9 months on at dusk and off at dawn every night. Just put the 2nd bulb in the fixture over my shed.

Our huge light fixture on our garage, that would probably take a fire ladder to get to, died last year. After considering a number of options, I decided to try putting these bulbs in the much smaller lantern-style lights on either side of the garage doors. Beautiful! They keep the garage area well-lit, and we're definitely saving on electricity.I liked them so much that I bought two more and put them in the lights on either side of our front door. My husband is always first out of the house every day, and every day he would forget to turn those lights off. Now I'm happy that I don't have to gripe...and he's happy that I don't have to gripe!

Purchased these for outdoor porch lights at my parent's home. They wanted something that would come on automatically since the mail carrier often comes after dark now. I wanted something that wasn't overbearing in brightness and cool color (my dad loves to find the brightest/bluest light bulbs and I can't imagine the neighbors appreciate it). This fit the bill - plenty bright without being annoying and a good color in between cool and warm. Not too yellow, not too blue.They've been used for over a month now, and no flickering. Great choice.
