Great Backup for Photos
I bought this hoping to help my wife and I organize all our photos. We had a problem at first and contacted the Monument Support Team and they walked me through my difficulties and today I couldn't be happier with the results. My wife takes a great deal of photos with her iPhone and anytime she's hooked up to wifi it copies all her new photos onto the hard drive at our home base and then they are copied to a backup hard drive It automatically sorts them by date, location, people and cameras used. I then have access to both of our photos anywhere in the world by opening the Monument app on my phone, without having years and years of photos on my phone. Thanks for a great product. We just came back from a 6 week vacation in Asia. My wife and I took photos everyday and they were all backed up every time we had wifi. It was nice knowing all our photos were at home on a hard drive and backed up on a different hart drive. It was nice insurance against losing our phone and losing all the photos. Great product and great tech support.

Works, but it's slow and disappointing
Update a couple months later: don't buy this thing. Wait for version 2 later this year if you really need a personal photo backup system.Face recognition needs a lot of improvement. Mass uploads always fail. Processing is SLOW. Can't add a face to a picture unless one is recognized. This is my first ever review. I felt like I had to write something to warn others.First of all, the auto-backup of daily pictures from my phone (Pixel) is great. Setup was also really easy, and I can easily connect to it while away from home.Overall though, I'm disappointed. When importing a lot of photos this thing is SLOW. Once everything is imported though, it's fine with importing daily pictures. The photo tagging feature is horrible, and this is why I'm considering returning the thing. It barely works, especially if you are used to the automatic (and impressive) photo tagging that Google Photos does.If you're looking for a Google Photos replacement, this isn't it.If you don't care about photo tagging (or very accurate facial recognition) then this would be fine for you.

Really handy photo backup device
I bought this to try and get some order to all my digital photos. At first I didn’t really appreciate what this thing could do. But now it’s so handy. It automatically backs up photos from my phone or iPad. I can access my photos anywhere and download them on another device if I want. It organizes them by date, location, camera. You have to help it with face recognition but it is terrific to have photos organized by people. It takes a long time to upload very large memory cards, I usually do it, and leave it overnight. After a few weeks of using it, I have decades of photos from all different sources finally in on place and in order, and I can access it from anywhere using my phone. My caveats-It took me awhile to figure out how to upload, you need to download their app.It doesn’t’ work with my older laptop with an old OS, you need to be up to date.It is very slow at uploading large memory sticksPros—Overall I am so happy to finally get some order to my photos from all my different sources.I love being able to find the pictures I want and access them from anywhere I am.Love that it automatically backs up photos from my phone anytime I’m on wi-fi, you don’t have to be at home to back up your photos.

Finally, an easy way to organize photos and keep them safe!
Just recently recently received mine and set it up with two 4 TB Western Digital easy store drives and I’m very happy with this device! Setup was so easy and simple! I’ve uploaded over 20,000 photos and it’s handled them with no issues at all although it does take some time to process that many initially which I anticipated. Facial recognition is pretty good but not perfect (I’ve not seen any that are perfect though) but it’s easy enough to correct them though I wish there was a way to correct them in batches rather than one by one (maybe this could be an enhancement they could make in an update down the road). It does everything as it was described it would do and the best part is they are continually updating it with enhancements. I was on the fence at first with getting it but I am glad I got it as it’s going to do exactly what I hoped it’d do in terms of being a solid replacement for cloud services that really don’t even do what it does.Tech support was responsive and helpful via email too!! A huge plus!

worked for a while and stopped connecting
I though this was a very clever and useful function, so I bought a unit to give it a whirl. While it appeared to work for a while, it crashed after a couple weeks and I have not been able to get it working again. When I initially set up the unit, it worked very well. downloaded all my pictures/videos from cell phone for about 1 week. Then it sent me a note that it needed to be updated. I searched their website and found the updating process, which involved downloading the update file to a flash drive, unplugging the unit to insert the drive, then plugging it back in. When the lights stopped flashing and the unit indicated it was working correctly, I unplugged it, removed the drive, and plugged it back in (indicated it was working OK). wasn't working/downloading photos so I emailed note to monument help. They promptly responded and we played email tag for an hour or so. Help was pretty generic and fellow was very polite, but after resetting everything including my phone, tablet, and router, still was unable to get unit working. Have boxed it up to return. (I note that I have worked with computer systems and networks for more than 3 decades, so this was not a simple user error problem.)

Better than expected!
Fantastic device for pulling together all your photos from phones, laptops and external hard drives. Takes a bit of time to upload everything (had a backlog of around 100,000 photos). Software does a good job of facial recognition as well as location mapping. Product works better than expected.

NOT WORTH THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE
Terrible. All plastic made in China. No internal hard drive. Way over priced. Returned it.

Can't use, I need to return
Hi there, I need to return this unused boxed product please. I opened it and found it had an american plug, so was unable to use it. i've not been well and haven't been able to get out to get an adapter. It's now in the too hard basket so could you please give me information about how I can return it. It is still in the box and never been used or turned on.Thank you.

Great concept, way to go yet.
Quite easy to use but not without its problems. Seems to drop out and a reboot is required. Some functions just refuse to work intermittently, like creating albums. Also it’d be good if system recognised when you import scanned pictures to make it easier to categorise them

This is made for the American market. Wrong power pack for Australia.
Can't use at present as I do not have a suitable power supply or adaptor. nee to go out and buy one, Is this a good enough excuse to leave home, No so will have to wait until the movement control is lifted. Pitty Amazon does not think about their customers, too buisy making money for people who have millions.Arthur McConnell.
