I love this! I now have 2 and might buy more.I keep one on the counter so I can set my coffee down while cooking meals without my coffee going cold. I also use it as a melter for scented candles. I'm thinking about trying melting chocolate chips for recipes next. =^DHowever, these should be used with caution! Around children, pets, forgetful or confused adults burns or other damage could occur as they are triggered by putting anything of weight on them. I accidentally rested a plastic butter lid on the one I keep on the dinner table and caught it just in time to manhandle it back into shape before it was completely unusable. Yes, the lid was VERY hot but, my old callused hands took the heat... barely.As others have complained they can sometimes heat without any weight on them. This is actually because they were left on or bumped. No ghosts, no "air" triggers. The trigger is under the front edge of the plate and may get stuck. Not a biggie. Just make sure the trigger is clean and give it a flick as you would a paper football. That's all it took to work for me.lNo, this won't keep your coffee piping hot if you don't have a cover on your coffee cup. It works like any other electric stove or hotplate. It heats from the bottom. However, it will only heat to under 200°F so it will not bring your beverage to a boil (212°F).As science would dictate, the liquid on the bottom of the container will be hotter than the liquid at the top. Reviews have picked about this too. (Karen's).Honestly, if I can make room on my desk that I don't accidentally sit something besides a cup of liquid on it, I'll be buying another one. Loving the simplicity for this busy, hands always full, work at home mom and grandma. 5 STARS!

Overall I like this product, it looks nice on my desk and it seems to heat well so far. But dangerous for two reasons.1) There is no on/off switch on top, it is underneath. So when you set something on top it pushes the burner down, hence the button hits the table it is on, then it turns on and starts heating. When you remove the cup/candle it releases the button (by slightly lifting up) and turns off. If you have a messy area and something lays on it, this thing will start heating and let's hope there is nothing flammable near it.2) Secondly, I had set a candle on it that was full. It melted it all the way through so the wax is all liquid (so it heats well) but I wanted to remove the candle so that it would shut off when I was done, but the full hot wax easily spilt out and burned me. I could have unplugged it but it was plugged in way under my desk and very inconvenient. Not a USB plug on this one. if your candle is not full this should not be an issue but the container may be hot to grab.Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. I really like it, and will keep it, just going to be more thoughtful on how I use it.

This coffee warmer is great. I like that it has a simple sleek design, and that I don’t have to remember to turn it on and off. Like every other coffee ‘warmer’, it’s really a keep-your-coffee-warm pad. It won’t warm a cold cup of coffee (well, maybe after 6 hours…), some reviewers seemed surprised by that. It works best with a mug that is as flat as possible to put more surface in contact, or in close contact, with the pad.

I love that it heats as soon as the cup is on and stops when removed. It does stay hot for a while, so no good for people with little ones and pets that walk on the furniture! I did have to put a wood board under it as we have a tablecloth and it was touchy with cloth under it. Great for work at home offices.

Cup weight activates heat. Keeps it Warm but not burnt

Originally loved this item, now the On - Off feature stopped working after four (4) months. Now stuck with a product that doesn't work unless you unplug and plug back in. Defeats the purpose.
