Great flow to a very personal account of a true modern day trail blazer.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up Patricia Noble Sullivan's account of her overland travels from Europe to Asia but I ended up compelled to just keep reading. Ms Sullivan provided insight of what it was like to travel during the Cold War period to parts that most of us were only familiar with through the writings of Marco Polo. She provided personal accounts with excerpts from letters home and descriptions of the people and places that she and her husband encountered during their two year adventure. There is a real flow to her writing style which was a welcome treat.

Excellent story, transports you…
What a great read. A terrific portrait of what was either a simpler/safer time or a time of great naivety/trust. The places they visit, the food they eat, the trust they place. It’s really incredible. I’m very pleased to have read this account. Thank you for sharing your story.

Fascinating book
This is a wonderful book. I highly recommend it for both people who did the Trail in their youth, and those who only thought about it. I did the Hippie Trail several years after the author did, and I loved reading of her adventures in places I had been also, as well as places I didn't get to. She brings the people and locations alive. And if you did travel the Hippie Trail, you will get special pleasure out of reading this book. Those were the days.

Almost as good as taking the trip
The perfect book to read during the pandemic when we aren't traveling anywhere. The author writes so vividly about her experience - two years traveling across many countries - that you'll almost feel like you've taken the trip yourself. An added bonus is that the trip took place in the sixties and served as the author's honeymoon. Highly recommend to a broad range of readers.
