CATMen's Boots
G**K
This Amazon traded product is genuine and as fantastic as Caterpillar ever are!
I wear Caterpillar boots to support my ankles, instead of having ugly medical supports, but also as a fashion statement. They are the only make that suit my wide feet, that are misshapen because of my EDS, a bleeding and collagen disorder, ie. toes twisted and big toe joint enlarged and twisted.I have a range of CAT boots in different colours and had never tried the Colorado style before.Absolutely fantastic. I put them on two days ago, and wore them the rest of the day! (I have to wear boots inside and continually anyway, while up and about!. Sheer bliss! The leather is strong with a protective coat so shed water and Nikwax spray so do not bother to use it! They are strong and have protective toes caps, but also amazingly comfortable, immaculate condition on arrival, and look amazing with fairly tight jeans and slim legs! You can ignore most of this review but rest assured that these are not fake, as said by some. Bought direct from Amazon, they were as described and genuine. They have a product serial number and age, came with a scan image, have genuine labels sewn in which are identical to their normal ones etc. and I should know.I bought men's wide, hooping that they would be snug around the ankles. They are.Though much of the rCaterpillar ange in women's and men's are chunky by normal leisure standards, but if you are used to walking boots rather than strappy sandals, do a lot of minor or walks outside, or work manually, then you. would love them.I have only ever worn out one pair of cCterpillars to the extent that they are stained and scruffy. IThey were second hand though! I have tried Doc Martens, which are good and more a fashion item, especially for students, but the fit is not right for me.I judge by the soles and not the design in general, as it is a better predictor of a wide fit. They need to be fairly rigid and tough to prevent stones from digging in one's feet, etc. Even if you are in the range of normal for footwear, a non-wide fit pair are roomy and comfortable, but I have to stretch those for above reasons, and they do not improve my balance as much as the wider soles. (If. you know someone with EDS, then they may think along the same lines as me as I want to keep on my feet for as long as possible and have regular ligament tears to recover from. .I get so many compliments about my bright blue boots and my yellow ones. I would like some pink ones but have never found them at reduced price in my size!!! Happy feet, happy souls!

Not quite like they use to be.
Got these boots in the sale for £71 so pleased about that. Now i have a pair of the same boots that are six years old and still going strong but, have to say cat boots are not made the same as they use to be not quite as comfortable and slightly less detail to quality but they are still decent enough at this price.

I love my boots! (and what a great deal!)
I have worn 6 eye boots for years. I've worn different types and they have all been exceedingly comfortable and got more comfortable the more they were worn, fitting like a glove and good for miles of walking. I've had wrangler boots, Union River boots, and a type I cant recall the brand of. Previous boots have by and large lasted for years (the wranglers still see service as gardening boots). Failure points have primarily been the sole cracking and once the black padded "collar" has detached from the boot at the rear - caused when pulling the boots on.I have been looking for a replacement for the Union River boots for a while but the prices on this style of footwear are by and large INSANE! Prices seem to be over £100 and up to £150 which I wasnt prepared to pay, then I saw these CATs on Amazon and at an eye-wateringly affordable price!I bought a pair of these CATs and have been wearing them fairly consistently since December 2012. I usually take a UK 8.5 (or a US 10.5 in running shoes) and initially ordered a UK 9 which was far too big, the UK 8 fits just fine. Indeed, I now wear orthotics in all my footwear to make up for fallen arches and these boots take the orthotics as well which raise my feet a little so I need to slacken the laces a little but the boots handle this with no problems.I got my first pair at £53.10 and am enjoying them so much I have bought a second pair to keep for when these wear out, the second pair came in at £56.03 which is still a bargain. So far a wonderful buy, no fitting problems (including the orthotics), look great, and feel good but experience tells me that they will eventually soften a little and then the real joy begins as they feel like a little piece of heaven on your feet!

Cat footwear is great
This is the 3rd pair of Cats I've owned over about 17 years or more and if truth has it, I still have the very first ones I bought that are still going strong, used mainly for very rugged dirty country walks (hence the 5 stars I gave to Cat boots).I bought these as another pair for casual smart use. I would have very much liked normal leather, the same as previous Colorado style boots but they don't seem to make these anymore, without a steal toe cap. This is absolutely beyond comprehension as to why they no longer make the Colorado in normal leather instead of Nubuck now. The look very smart at the moment but no idea how they will look after a years use. Nubuck is very time consuming to constantly keep clean unlike leather where you can just wipe away dirt with a damp cloth and buff it clean with a bit of shoe polish and a brush. With this nubuck leather boot, you can't use polish or a brush and you have to buy a dedicated nubuck brush that consists of tiny rubber bristles where you simply buff the nap clean. I also decided to buy an aerosol can of nubuck protector to use on them as well.Overall, I sincerely hope these boots last as long as my previous Cat Colorado's, but to be honest I think they will tend to get more shabby sooner than if they were normal leather. You really can't go wrong with Cat boots, they just keep lasting and do not fall apart but I really do hope Cat will re-introduce this boot in normal leather again and not just in nubuck which is kind of odd as they are designed for walking/work, etc, and the last thing you want for this is a boot in soft nubuck/suede style.
