The Children's Illustrated Bible

This is a well written and illustrated Children's Bible. The chapters of each book of the bible are simply written making it much easier for young children to understand, without loosing the theme of the original Bible. The pictures describe the stories and are so lifelike. I was so engrossed in looking at them, they look so real. I bought this book for my daughter as she recalled when she was a child I had bought a similar book for her older brother, which she inherited when he moved on. She loved it, especially as it had lots of pictures. No idea what has happened to that book. She spoke about it recently, hence I bought this one as a surprise for her.

I bought this book as a christening present for my grandson. He is far too young to appreciate it, but I loved it. Buy the larger version for children. I would seriously like the smaller version for myself. The stories are well written and the illustrations lovely, and there is a lot of background information. A good book for older children.

I bought this as a Christmas present for Callum. He has asked especially if he could have a bible as a present and after looking at a lot of others I chose this as it seemed to have a broader story base and was more complete in its reproduction of the bible, yet fully explained so that a child can read and enjoy. Callum is delighted with it and is reading it with great enjoyment, so that in itself tells me it is a success.

An excellent book, very suitable for children, but be careful to order the right version - two versions are on sale, one is large and easy for a child to read, or for reading from at Sunday school, the other version is tiny, and would be unlikely to engage a child, and an adult may prefer a different style if they wanted a compact Bible for personal use. I might have known about this had I read previous reviews, or taken care to look at the product dimensions in the small print - but I had seen the vicar's copy and thought I didn't need to research further. So I went for the latest version, and this miniature book arrived a few days later. No good for Sunday school work, but a happy ending, Amazon, bless them, exchanged the book and my lack of care cost me only the return postage. As the product details are so visually similar, perhaps Amazon could add something more prominent to make the prospective buyer aware of the different sizes on offer.

Really good to get kids interested because it connects the Bible to now the 'now'. It explains how life was 2000 years ago and gives all the background information that children love (maps, photos, very good drawings) whilst taking you through the Old and New Testament. If only the larger version was more easily available...

We are forever grateful to God through this publication that my children are eager to know God word for their lives. Glory to God

Disappointed by the size of the Bible for children had originally bought for an easter present for my grandchildren lucky I only ordered the one which is now on my bookshelf

What a nice Bible. As a senior adult I am pleased with the stories, the art work and in general how interesting the stories are written not only for children but for adults to enjoy. I am very impressed with the writing. I was brought up Catholic and was not exposed to much of the stories. I find these very interesting and informative for things I have missed. I highly recommend this book for enjoyment and knowledge.

beautiful perfect size bible for kids my boys are 11&12 and are reading it everyday. Great illustrations and worth every penny. Thank you.

I don't usually write reviews, but after getting this children's illustration bible, I thought I should write a review to recommend this book to those who are looking for a special book for their children. THIS is special! I love the way this book shows pictures of places where the stories were set. It makes bible stories much more interesting and enables me journey with the people in the history. Invaluable book!

SO Nice book, simple language and Nice pictures.

This is a handy book that can be carried anywhere. Which seems to be the reason for the small font. The illustrations are beautiful and interest evoking. I think 8+ can read this. Even adults can read it. I always feel that illustrated Bibles are the perfect way to get a child to begin his or her own spiritual journey. And yes, the font is smaller than normal but I think children can read it. The book is small because of this and that's probably why it is not bulky.
