It blows blue smoke from its mouth
The media could not be loaded. This dinosaur toy was better that I expected! The details on his skin and eyes are very life-like. The best part is that he blows steam and a blue light from his mouth! I've never seen anything like this in a toy before. The other amazing part is that it follows the light from the lazer gun. It moves very fast and makes dinosaur sounds. A very fun and different dinosaur toy and I would definitely recommend!

Very Fragile
The item is fragile and tips over very easily. The right hind foot broke off the first time it was used. Wouldn’t recommend it.

He's fun - does everything that's promised
The media could not be loaded. I grew up with dinosaur toys, so this remote-controlled dino was a must! It comes with two lithium batteries (one's a backup) and a USB cable to recharge them. You need to provide 3 AAA batteries, not included in the package. It does include a mini screwdriver, a size necessary to turn the tiny inset screws.I was skeptical that this product would really do what it claims. It does! The dinosaur walks beautifully (and briskly!) forwards and backwards, follows the red laser light, and roars on and off (in my short video I had to edit out the roar sound so I could fit my video clip on my computer). It even breathes a blue-light vapor, simulating fire. It's cool! I could see getting a few of these and having dinosaur contests or "fights." Or consider creating a dinosaur environment for the creature. I'm personally going to have a lot of fun operating my critter in the office and with some friends!I was a bit concerned about putting my pet dino together, but it turned out to be much easier than the instructions look. The instructions include many helpful diagrams, but doesn't seem to have quick start instructions -- so here it is (do look over the instruction sheet also):1. Insert the legs. 2. Put on the tail (it curves upward). 3. On the (adorable, dinosaur-like) remote handheld device, unscrew the door on the handle. (The screw does not come out all the way, just loosen it so the battery door opens.) Insert 3 AAA batteries. Screw it closed. 4. Open the underbelly door (open screw counterclockwise). Plug in the partially charged lithium battery to the red plastic. Close belly door & turn screw clockwise to tighten. 5. Read instructions and warnings. Lots of the instruction sheet deals with the batteries. NOTE: the remote control has a red laser; keep it away from children's eyes.

Nice detail and good concept but some big flaws
The first thing you'll notice when you take this RC dinosaur out of the box is how nicely detailed it is. Everything is very realistic looking right down to the eyes. The remote is a bit flimsy and cheap feeling. But the dinosaur bones look is pretty cool and kids will love it.Unfortunately, the remote only has forward and backward direction whether you use the buttons or the laser pointer to guide the dinosaur. And that's the first major flaw. The dinosaur can only move forward and backward which means kids are going to lose interests faster. If you back up, the dino does have tendency to go slightly to the left. So in that way you can get it going in little bit different direction but it's not overly useful. The fact the dinosaur has sensors that follow the light (backward and forward only) from the laser was a great idea. Kids will be fascinated by that. But again, after the fun of doing that awhile and the coolness of the steam coming out of its mouth wears off, they will lose interest fast because they can't turn it and make it go where they want.It does have nice roars it makes when moving. And parents will be glad to know the sound can be shut off by holding down a button on the left of the forward and reverse buttons on the remote.Lastly, it can be a bit unstable. If there's a tiny change in the floor, like a transition from low pile carpet (it only works well on bare floors or low pile carpet), to a hard floor it will fall over. I could see of it was a big bump. This is the other flaw I mentioned. It seems to be from the dino being designed with poor weight distribution. It's a little top heavy and the back feet are too close together.

Super cool, but only goes frontwards or backwards..
I got this for my son who has an obsession with dinosaurs. I was unaware that there is an extra rechargeable battery in the dino battery compartment - so make sure to check that so it can be charged up.This is a cool velociraptor that has wheels on its front and back legs, making it go forwards or backwards by either using the infrared remote, or by pushing the buttons on the remote. It comes with a small bottle to add water to the top of the dino's head, which will give it a smoke-like effect when it roars. After it roars, it'll go forward a bit, then back. There are two rechargeable batteries for the dino itself, but the remote takes regular batteries. I thought this was a great idea because you can charge one battery while the other is in use. You'll have to put the legs on, but it comes with a small screwdriver so you can attach the legs and to be able to get into the battery compartments for the dino and the remote.Battery life for one charge is a good amount of time. My son played with this for quite a while before his sister took over, and it still held a charge hours later. Charge time for the battery doesn't seem to take that long, either, but I left it on charge overnight for the first charge up.This is a really cool toy that can keep a kiddo entertained for a while. It works best on non-carpeted flooring, but if your carpets are the short fiber kind, then it will still go, but it's not as fast.Overall, both of my kids loved it and it kept them entertained for quite some time, with a good, long-lasting battery life. Husband even took a go at it and had the kids laughing as he chased them around the house with it. For what you receive, it's at a good price point. 10/10, definitely recommend.
