Fantastic product
I bought this thermos to replace my last one. The one I had before had this awful habit of working perfectly and keeping my tea warm for enjoyable walks outside. I shudder thinking back on the fun afternoons it provided me with. Tough times. But this thermos was so much better. Let me tell you, if you're in the market to have your day off plans replaced with hours of cleaning then look no further, this is the product for you. On only the second use I removed the bottom to clean the inside and to my absolute joy it slid out and smashed into a billion pieces. The engineering is fantastic, other glasses shatter into a few hundred maybe, but not this fine quality construction. The four billion pieces of glass provided me with hours of entertainment. Instead of walking in the woods I had the pleasure of sweeping and hoovering all afternoon, outstanding value. I'm so very happy with this purchase. Especially since I've been thinking about replacing these awful comfortable hardwood floors with some nice jagged glass. Now for those of you worried about the long term value, worry no longer! Even after all that cleaning there's lovely tiny glass shards everywhere. I get to look forward to weeks of cut feet. All for the low price of £13. Now I can imagine how a student that doesn't even make that much an hour might be sore about this whole business. But I myself am a wealthy land baron and I wipe my chin with that much money.Paid for the privilege of this headache. Cheers

BEST in TRUE taste. BEST in retaining temp for LONG. WORST durability. All types of flasks explained
UPDATE (10 Sept 2019): This being my second Flask, has now also fallen fate to smashed inner glass from low impact despite careful avoidance of hard impact. This time it broke by just setting the flask down onto a hard bench table, not with any unreasonable force. I had made sponge protection to its cylinder but I didnt think to also cover the base. I have come to the conclusion that this particular model of glass flask is not constructed well to protect from normal use impact (such as setting it down on hard surfaces). Sadly, despite being my favourite type of flask (see below for my original review and explanation of different types of flasks), I cannot recommend this to even the most careful of users. Glass flasks are superb in delivering untainted liquids, and retaining temperature for very long. But I think just don't buy large capacity ones. As I have smaller glass lined flask which have lasted long and still going, I think either large capacity glass flasks are too fragile in general or this specific model is poorly designed.MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:This is my second purchase of this particular flask but let me explain about flasks first as I own all types (all Thermos brand) and so with some authority can give you the characteristics and experience with all of them. One thing to know about flasks is that they come in three types:1. Stainless Steel: The most common. Retains hot temperature for around 3-4 hours, bit longer for cold. Steel inner lining taints the taste of any liquid, giving a metallic taste. Very Durable, can usually take knocks. Recommended only for those on a budget, wants durability and not too demanding on retaining temperatures for long and not fussy about tainted taste.2. Double Walled Steel: Like normal Stainless Steel Flask characteristics (tainted tasted, very durable) but double walled lining retains temperature for much much longer. 12 hours for hot, 24 hours cold. Recommended for those that want durability and retaining of temperature for a whole day but don't mind the tainted taste of contents.3. Glass lined: Least common type sold but the very best at retaining the true taste of liquid content and matches the longevity of retaining temperature as a double walled Stainless steel flask. However, the glass nature of these flask means they are much much less durable and if dropped or even toppled, the glass lining will smash. Recommended only for those that are confident in protecting their flask from being dropped or toppled by swinging arms and want the very best in untainted hot/cold drinks and equal best in retaining temperatures the whole day (ice cold drinks lasts to next day too)This flask is of course, category 3, glass lined. Its volume of 1.8 litres is enormous and enables me to share my contents with companions. But the 1.8 capacity serves another important advantage. It brings more stability to the flask from being knocked over due to its broader base. So you might want to factor that in.Many reviewers have given this a low rating because the inner lined glass smashed into smithereens when their flask toppled over. Indeed, I too accidentally kicked my previous flask, as I carelessly, knocked my previous flask off the table and as it hit the carpeted floor, the inner glass smashed. Lesson learnt about the nature of glass lined flasks. Hence this being my second purchase of this exact item because its advantages are absolutely worth it.I own all three types but this is my most used on a daily basis, as the taste difference between this and my stainless steel flasks is light and day. It also literally retains the ice cold temperature of water for the whole day (and remarkably into the next day too) during summer and hot water for the whole day during winter. I would also go camping with this too. But just like any plates and glasses, you just have to make sure you dont drop it or knock it against hard surfaces. It comes with two handy screw on cups which I use for cold drinks (I never use them for hot drinks as they are plastic).I still use my stainless steel flasks too when I want to travel lighter as they are smaller profile flasks but at the sacrifice of the taste in my drinks. You can make this more protected by wrapping the body with sponge padding which I do. Although I can't vouch for how effective it is as I had not "tested" it and I don't intend to! But I will update this review if one day, I do accidentally knock it over and whether the my padding protected it or not.So I give this five stars for delivering everything it promises to deliver in the description at such a fantastic value price. The fact that its less durable due to its glass lined nature can't be factored in my rating. There is a premium version available that has a soft rubber grip handle for a few pounds more which wasn't available at the time otherwise I might have probably gone for that. You might want to look at that one too on this site.

Broken on arrival and cannot get refund
Product arrived smashed. The flimsy cardboard box was too small for the item so despite a cover of bubble wrap, and an optimistic ‘fragile’ label, the thermos inner glass was already smashed.Contacted the seller who requested photos. Started returns process and seller now wanted the thermos back. The returns process they use is an obsecure Freepost that uses no postcodeI have been to 5 (FIVE) post offices - none of whom recognise the scheme. The information from the sellers acknowledges the post office do not recognise the scheme and asks you to give the post office a web address to check. Unsurprisingly none of the post offices were willing to access some random web address. The thermos is in the bin. I have no way of returning the item - I’m not sure why the seller demands a broken thermos back to process the refund - despite having the photo evidence - so I’ve given up but it is safe to say I will never ever use this seller again.

Great on adventures!
After partaking in my 9th climb to Everest and carrying this thermos all the way to the summit (whilst carrying a Sherpa on my shoulders) I can safely say it's great. With frost bitten fingers it's easy to open the screw cap.It keeps warm fluids warm for hours and does the same for cold fluids. As you can see it comes with 2 cups which are good size. They kept me and my Sherpa Ting Tong warm for hours as we sipped our warm tea at camp 4.Definitely recommend. Also it's easy to clean.

keeps your precious tea hot for what seems to be eternity!
Cannot express how happy i am with this flask (or should i say giga-flask). It looks funny when i take it out of my backpack when i arrive to work. Let me just tell you, that this thing is huge. But keeps my hot tea hot much longer than i expected (today the tea was still hot after 17 hours!!!!!). If you don't mind swapping your ford fiesta for a transit, or a 9-seater to carry it with you, then go for it - this is the best thermos flask i've ever used (to be honest this is the only thermos flask i've ever used, but it doesn't matter - i don't think i want anything better). All you need to remember is to fill it with hot water for approx. 2-3 minutes to warm it up before you put tea inside. Almost forgot - its got a sugar container in the screw-cap!
