My nearly 6 year old son has never had a dry night. He sleeps like a log and just had no clue when he was wetting in the night - we potty trained him at 2 in the day and he did this relatively easily, but thought to do the night time as well at this time would be too much for him. Since he was say 3.5 to 4 we have had several attempts to get him dry in the night, did the usual reducing the fluid, no drinks after 6pm, dream weeing etc. We wouldn't get any improvements so would try again in a few months time. In Jan 2014 we decided to go cold turkey, just get rid of the pull ups and use the diposable bed sheets and in a few weeks he would be able to break the habit. But after 3 weeks it was actually getting worse - this really affected him as he felt like a baby and really wanted his friends to be able to sleepover. I did a bit more searching and originally ordered a much cheaper alarm which when delivered just didn't work. This was half the price of the Chummie, but when I saw this alarm I just thought to hell with it, we were ready to try anything and I didn't want to consider possible medication. I talked my son through how it worked, he loved the little book and being able to colour in the pictures. We bought some t-shirts with little pockets in to clip the alarm and keep it more secure, and for the first few nights put a pull up over his pants to keep the alarm in place. It is very sensitive which is great as it went off when the tiniest drop of wee hit it - the first few times it did make us jump, but it had to be that loud (and vibration is great) to wake my son. First 3-4 nights he woke 2-3 times, and finished his wee on the toilet. On the 4th night nothing, we lay awake until 1am expecting to hear the alarm! At 6am I woke up and had to go in and see him as was convinced it had stopped working (or hubby hadn't switched it on!)...but lo and behiold, our first dry night! SInce then he hasn't looked back, and it hasn' gone off once. since then Tonight is the 14th night - we did take the alarm off 2 nights ago which I know was a little early but we wondered if fit would make a difference. This has just made something 'click' with him, and it's made his brain realise whe hemay need a wee and he's just holding it. He's not even waking in the night to go to the toilet (he did do that once, on the 5th night but it was about 6am) - I really cannot rate it highly enough, my son is so much happier, and now Daddy has to buy him a new bed! For anyone in the same predicament just get it - it really has worked miracles :) x

Very happy with this purchase (so far)! I bought this for my 6 year old son who was wetting the bad on the average 3 times a night due to primary enuresis. The first night the alarm went on 3 times, the second night 1 time, and he hasn't done it since! In fact around 3 am he now wakes up and goes to the toilet. Simply incredible and unexpected progress - we're getting ourselves ready to wake up at night for months. Of course each case is different and your own experience might be different. We're now waiting to turn 14 dry nights before we stop using it, and of course there's always a chance for relapse, but so far I am genuinely impressed. As far as parental advice goes I'd say wait until your child turns 6 before you consider nocturnal enuresis a problem - esp. with boys, before that based on what I have researched it's completely normal. Concerning the product - easy to use and of good quality. Strangely enough it comes with a manual in all other languages, but English, though an EN version can be downloaded on-line from their web site. To avoid false alarms (it happens occasionally) make sure you always rinse and pat it dry after it gets wet and make sure it makes no skin contact. Even a drop is enough to set it off so also make sure your child's underwear is completely dry.

This was for my grandson who sleeps so deeply that he's not aware of wetting the bed. It has managed to wake him up each time....although sometimes he's slightly wet but nothing serious. He was quite upset about it all and was more than happy to try Chummie out. It's working well and he is looking forward to his camping with the cubs in six weeks time.

Im not normally one to write reviews but I'm so bitterly disappointed with this product that I felt I needed to. My 7 year old has been struggling with bed wetting and is getting quite upset over it so I decided to try an alarm and after reading lots of brilliant reviews for this one I decided to bite the bullet and fork out the £65. The actual alarm component is poorly made, the button on the side to control sound, vibration and alarm tone is flimsy and gets stuck easily, I thought I could live with this if the thing did the trick, however, after 5 nights perseverance I'm giving up. In addition to the alarm being flimsy, the sensor component is also poor. The sticky strips provided don't stay stuck to the underwear, particularly if your child fidgets in bed, which most do, so on 2 nights the alarm didn't go off because it had become detached from the underwear. I've tried using 3 of the strips to stick it down (you're only supposed to need one) to 100% cotton knickers (instead of polyester or any with character pictures stuck on) but this still didn't work. We're going on holiday in 10 days and I was hoping this was going to prevent accidents in the hotel bed but that's not going to happen. In my opinion this alarm was a complete waste of £65 and I shall be contacting the manufacturer to complain.

I bought this for my 6yo son who was showing no sign of being dry at night, he was turning down invites to stay over at friends due to embarrassment and as an ex bedwetter myself until into my early teens I didn't want him to have to experience the same so we invested in this alarm. The first few nights meant lots of disturbed sleep thinking the aliens had landed with beeping lights and the alarm + changes of sheets/pants etc. He stuck at it and within days he was getting up at the very first signs of wee so sheets were staying dry and we only needed to change pants. 2 weeks in we have had 3 completely dry nights and no disturbance....his brain and body has decided its now going to hang on. I cannot tell you how amazed we have been + my son is so very proud of himself. We had an arm strap already, which is essential for keeping it in place, (although I wouldn't buy the one from this company - daylight robbery), we needed 2/3 sticky things a night to hold the alarm on his pants...masking tape is equally as good. If you're hesitating, don't, we are truly blown away at the results and the sense of your child's achievement alone makes it worth it.

My son has had issues for years now and we've tried a few alarms. I splurged for this one hoping more money meant a better alarm. It started well and we were able to trust me son, who is 8, to do the alarm himself. He understood why it was important and really wants to beat this, but he has a dreadful sense of when he is wet or smelly. Tonight I caught a smell of him and sure enough he has wet himself recently. I tested the alarm and discovered why, the sensor wasn't working. I replaced the batteries and followed the trouble shooting (which has you gently wash and pat dry the sensor... there isn't much else to it. It either works or it doesn't). So less than 3 month and already broken. Even the cheapest alarms from eBay lasted longer than this. I've also read if you didn't register inside a month the 3 month warranty on the sensor doesn't apply so I guess I'm stuck. And despite the money wasted, it is very frustrating to see your child slip back in to old habits while waiting for a new alarm to arrive. When does it end? :( EDIT: I am pleased to report a no quibble experience with Chummie Customer support. After one email they asked for my address and sent on a new sensor from the States. It took a couple weeks to arrive but our alarm is now working again. The question is, for how long? As we're in this for the long-haul we need months of consistent service from this. Every break invites a relapse and I'm not sure if this alarm is up to the task.

this item works really well. was a little unsure if it would work and being so much money ?? but I went for it and glad I did. my son is a heavy sleeper and wets a lot. he is 6. first 3 nights was wet. next 3 nights was wet but when alarm went off he stopped weeing and finished in toilet. then next couple of weeks only a few accidents. then he was either sleeping through without weeing or waking up to go toilet. now after 8 weeks and the last 3 weeks plus he has been dry I have took alarm off and he gets up to go toilet now. I am so pleased with it and so HIGHLY RECOMEND IT. my son is also really pleased with himself too. well worth money to help with bed wetting. the alarm is very sensitive though, if he didn't wipe after weeing which being only 6 he usually didn't just slight drop sets it off. so if unsure go for it and with a little patience it will reward you well.

Bought this for my 6 year old granddaughter, money very well spent. Worked from first evenIng! After two weeks granddaughter said to Mum " I don't need Chummie anymore I want to go the bed without him" in bed for 7pm slept till 5.30 am , when she woke up and went to the toilet! One very minor issue - my daughter found it better to stick the sensors to underwear with sellotape! The stickers provided were ok but not as secure as sellotape!! If you have a child or grandchild who is having difficulty staying dry at night , buy this. First few nights the alarm went off and Mum got up to help sleepy child to the toilet . Within two weeks she was sleeping through the night- a miracle!!! They had tried everything , nothing worked . My granddaughter is so pleased with herself , it was becoming very stressful for her because 3 year old sibling had been dry at night for 6 months. Chummie comes in either blue or pink. Don't hesitate.

Me tomó algunas noches encontrarle el mejor acomodo y que no se despegue. Después de ese brevísimo periodo de aclimatación se empezaron a ver resultados rápidamente. Posteriormente los "accidentes" se fueron reduciendo en frecuencia hasta que la situación cambió por completo. En dos meses fuimos de mojar todos los días a cero días mojado. Muy contento con el producto y sobre todo con los resultados.
