STAR WARS The Black Series Elite Praetorian Guard (with Heavy Blade)
L**N
The Praetorian Guards are my "must see" in the new movie now that I have this figure.
This is a really nice figure. I am so glad we get to see some exclusives to have a wider range of the Elite Guards. This guard of one of three that we will see in The Last Jedi. I was surprised by the different helmet that this one had over the initial release #50 that came with the short blade. He comes with two weapons. Of course the most obvious is the Heavy Blade. The handle alone stands as tall as the guard. Then there is the giant blade on top of that. It really makes him stand out. He also comes with a pike looking weapon. I saw a SHFiguarts version of this figure, and that figure comes with a secondary variation of this weapon that shows the segments come apart to create a whip. That is a formidable set of weapons for him to carry. I assume as we finally get to see the movie, we will see the variation in the eight guards that are to guard Snoke. There may be some weapon swapping going on. It is really cool that this version would come with the second weapon. The details on the figure are outstanding. The director said that he wanted the guards to look like Samurai, where even standing there they look like they could fight. There is a bit of resemblance to the Royal Guard from the Original Trilogy, but enough changes to update the characters to the new movie styles. They are nearly all red with just one dot of black on the upper chest, and black pants hiding underneath the skirt. And that is fine. There are a lot of great textures, especially the leather look to the skirt and around the collar of the suit. The arms have very intricate armor that look great and create some fantastic shadows. That arm armor has created a bit of buzz due to the fact that it limits arm movement. There are four armor plates on the upper arm, and four on the lower arm. The center most plate is actually a rubber material that allows for some flex in the arms. It is of course, not going to be as much as you would find with a standard figure, but it is there. You can get some good poses with them anyway.Don't think you are just buying a second #50 with new weapons. The helmet does an amazing job of changing the overall look of the figure. You will not be disappointed by getting this figure as well.

Highly recommended for any fan or collector
There are 3 versions of the Praetorian Guard in the 6" Black Series. This one and the "standard" figure (#50) are identical from the neck down. The head sculpt and the weapons are all that is different. (The other version comes in a 4 pack, has a different head and has a soft "skirt" rather than the rubbery plastic. The torso and arms on all of them is the same.) The head on this figure has the visor protruding from the face right around the brow, as opposed to #50 where the visor is vertically straight and the 4 pack version that has the "hat" style helmet. I wont go into detail about the articulation or any other features as I see other reviewers have done that at length. Highly recommended for any fan or collector.

Great Figure and great packaging job. Nicely done.
The Praetorian Guards have been awesome figures from the regular release, but the minor variations although subtle make for great updates and easy money for Hasbro. Luckily for us as collectors, the figures are well done and make for great army builders. This one is especially nice with the giant cleft blade and the sword. The figure itself is standard fare to the regular release except with a different head. Although it was mentioned early in release of these figures that there was no elbow articulation, there actually is fairly good Range of motion given the look of the arms. You just have to look up into the folds to make sure that the joint is faced in the right direction. Slight turn of the arm and I have a good bend in the elbow for holding this mighty blade. This figure also came packed amazingly well. It arrived in an appropriate sized box, but within that box was minor packing and another item specific white box directly form Hasbro with the single figure in it. It was a perfect fit box and kept the package in amazing condition. Good job Amazon.Great figure all around. Glad it shipped so quickly from amazon.

Awesomeness!!
This guy is beyond cool! He is any Amazon exclusive, and is worth every dollar. He comes with two weapons. Articulation is excellent, and makes for easy display. He goes well with the other Black Series Praetorian Guard, who both go well with Supreme Leader Snoke. Get this guy before the price gets too high!

Fantastic figure
This guy is great. Mine came shipped inside the Hasbro shipping box. So basically its double boxed which is great. The figure itself looks wonderful and has some sweet weapons with it. The royal guards are always a fan favorite and would be hard for any Star Wars fan to pass up. These Praetorian guards are certainly no slouch.

Good figure, looks good.
I love this figure, looks good with the rest of my praetorian guards. I love the long pike the only thing this could use is a little bit better articulation in the elbow. Overall a very cool looking and fun figure.

Great in all areas except articulation
Good sculpt. Appreciate the inclusion of a couple weapons to allow for more options in posing or play. This figure suffers from the same issues as the other Praetorian Guards released. The armor sculpting on the arms severely limit elbow mobility.
