Fantastic for outdoor stain and preservative
I’ve used this many many times in various colours. I haven’t used it on indoor wood but outdoor. It gives a great finish and is amazing at protecting the wood. It is very fast to apply and water washable for clean up. I’ve got outdoor projects I have made that have seen four winters and the wood is still perfect. Please may I offer a big tip for those who don’t know. If you are applying the stain to new wood, particularly soft wood like pine and redwood, the first coat is mega important if you want the finish to look nice and even. Apply the first coat with a lint free rag (I use Jcloth). Put it on reasonably liberally and cover everywhere but most importantly, wipe all the excess off straight away - after only a few seconds. Wipe it off as if you were trying to remove the stain you have just applied. Soft wood stains unevenly and if you don’t wipe the first coat away, the finish will be very blotchy. Wiping the first coat acts as a “pre stain” and applying he second coat to that massively improves the finish with no blotchyness.

Easy to use, great finish and easy clean up
This is great stuff! It’s so easy to use - give it a very good stir up then paint away. It’s very watery but keep in mind it’s a stain not a paint. Clean up is easy - just rinse the brush under the cold tap. You can easily wipe up any spills with a damp cloth. I used it on pine and it gave a gorgeous oak colour and a satin slight sheen to the finish. I’m glad I bought this and from the amount used I can see it will go a long way. I’ve used this on multiple projects and found you get the best results if your stir before each time you load your brush. I will definitely buy again.

Beautiful finish on wooden bench slats
This isn’t exactly light oak and more like a dark antique pine colour. I think other reviewers may have said the same. If you are not too fussed I would suggest trying it on a small area just to see how it looks on the particular type of wood you are painting as it may well look different. I certainly noticed quite a significant difference in colour on the various shades of bare wood of some bench slats I was painting. Apart from the colour, I found the wood stain very easy to apply and gave a fantastic finish after 3 coats. You can even wash the brushes in soapy water which is great and avoids the added expense of white spirit. Can’t believe I can write so much about a tin of paint!!!! I really need to get out more.

It's not a stain, it's a weak film
A stain penetrates the wood grain, this comes off, put some duct tape and pull and it will pull this along. Color wise it is perfect, it is the color I was looking for, it is easy to apply but brush carefully. Money wise, I need to buy a polyurethane finish otherwise this is weak by itself, not is not a finishing product by a long shot.

Easy to use and works
Good stain, easy to use and easy to clean the brush, I could probably have used only 2 coats but did 3 on mahjong tile holders I made for my club, to buy them you are talking about well over £40 and I made them for less than a fiver so well chuffed. The stain just finished the job nicely and looks great.

Applies really well
Oak colouring. Easy to apply. Good quantity used to renovate a very large kitchen counter top & both sides of a front door about half a tin used only.
