No need to pay more these latches do not last, so why pay more.
Good value for money and do the job. My only issue was with the strike plate. These are narrower than most so as a replacement not ideal, but if you can keep the existing, not an issue.

Good Value and will do all it has to do
I have written hundreds of reviews in regards to items sold through Amazon. The good, the bad and, sometimes, the ugly This review is based on my personal opinions gleaned as a result of decades of experiences in a professional occupation, using firearms for close to fifty years, outdoor pursuits, DIY, as a consumer, a property owner and raising a family. This tubular latch is sold off £2.99 as a prime item through Amazon (January 2018) Prime items come with a promise of next day delivery to Amazon prime members You cannot rely on the next day delivery promise. There is no indication as to any potential additional postage charges for non prime members. The latch is a good budget example and will do all that is required to be done. I bought this as a replacement for a “dead” latch. Replacement was very quick and easy. Simply remove two screws push the latch in, correct way around for the door closure. There is no doubt that it is a budget, unbranded item. There are no markings and the metal assembly is rough and ready. All that said, this is very good for the cost and will do all required of it.

Tubular Brass Latch.
Bought as a replacement for a worn out latch. Easy to fit with the door closing shut as it should. An inexpensive item that does the job.

Ok but not really great
I was slightly disappointed by these as I've bought Sterling latches before and been impressed with the quality. Not sure if they have changed their manufacturing processes (or their supplier) but the brass finish looks tacky. Also the hole for the spindle to pass through didn't quite match up to the latch I was replacing, despite that also being a Sterling latch of the same size. It was only out by a millimetre or so but still caused hassle when fitting.
