Does the job!
Great quality, comfortable does the job! Look strong easy with grip. But could be cheaper.

Very nice - I was starting to get worried that it ...
Very nice - I was starting to get worried that it might be too heavy and that the 15oz would be better, but it's fine. For light tapping, just hold it further up the handle, to really belt something hold it normally. After a bit of practice, I got a better feel for the balance - just get it moving, and it will do the work - the nail goes in effortlessly. And build wise, it seems very tough. I guess the paint will eventually scratch, but well, its a hammer! What I really do like is the straight claw - my other hammer is an old Stanley (my grandfather's so I'm holding on to it!), with a pronounced curve. Good for getting out nails, but a lot of the time I was using it to pry things, and it was often awkward for this. This hammer is great - just whack it into the gap (or make a gap!) and lever. Given that I'm just a DIYer, it will probably outlast me.

It's an Estwing
Bought this to replace my old Vaughan framing hammer. It's an Estwing so it's well made, beautifully balanced and the shock absorption is really first rate. The nail starter is okay, my old Vaughan worked better, and the striking surface of the head is a little small but it swings well and isn't tiring in use. Not sure if a milled face is available. It's a decent length so you get plenty of hit even though it's 19oz. If you do a lot of framing you might want to look at a Martinez or a Stiletto but this works well for me. Made in the USA.

Quality for the price
The hammer I purchased was the long shanked version and I was unaware of that so it's a bit excessive for me I would have much prefered the regular length one at the same weight as the long one is way too clumsy to handle for the work I do with it.but other than that quality.

Mixed feelings
Really comfortable hammer to use ! Unfortunately it broke roughly 11 months after I started using it which surprised me . You really don't see it that often . Snapped where the rubber handle ends . Which is a shame as I really was very happy with it until now . The longer handle I felt really did help balance out the weight and made light work of nails .

Really well balanced and the magnet for starting off your nails in pretty handy too
Cracking hammer for framing work, structural carpentry. Really well balanced and the magnet for starting off your nails in pretty handy too.It wont stay consistently black for long as the paint flakes pretty much straight away, but who cares i personally think it looks better that way.

Best Hammer ever
Great product, narrow neck mean less likelihood of striking the nails wrong. 19oz has more punch than the 15oz version and the magnetic nail holder is great
