I tried a couple of these wireless adapters, each of them had issues. The ottocast adapter worked straight out the box, no settings to change and no lengthy installation process. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. If for any reason you need to change anything or update the firmware then you can do it via an app - I haven't even downloaded the app. I had a question for support and Julie responded within 24hrs, and she knows the product inside out. She answered my question and even explained her answer so that I understood. It has never once dropped the connection once paired, and Android Auto works exactly as if it was wired. I have been able to hide the box away very easily. I would highly recommend this adapter. I use it in my 2022 Corsa e.

Received earlier this year. Installation was very simple and the Ottocast was very fast uploading Android Auto each time I got into the car with no lag. I had reason to contact the seller because the box started to malfunction. Within 24 hours of making contact a sales support contact approached me with suggestions as to what could be the issue. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem and they instantly agreed to fix or replace. Very happy with the service I received.

The item itself does work but if you receive a phone call it throws everything off and needs to be reconnected, not something that should be done whilst driving, so you have to stop to reconnect, also when you get out of the car then back in it doesn’t always reconnect automatically, altogether would not buy again. Fitted in Mercedes 2021 A200 connecting to iphone 15 pro.

It's small and very light. Comes with two cables which is nice in case you got A or C type car. Sadly the device did not work. It struggles to connect to my OnePlus 9 Pro and it keeps losing connection in my mercedes e class. Maybe I got a dud as reviews were supposed to be good?

I honestly expected some hassle every time I start the car, but no. My phone in my pocket, switch on the ignition and 20 seconds later AirPlay is running. Less hassle than even when I was using wire. Great product.

When it works, it works well but been as though this is one of the more expensive options, I would expect it to be more functional. If you start your car 10 times, then only 5 out of those 10 times will it connect to your phone, the other 5 times you have to pull out the USB and push it back in again for it to read the device. Doesn’t take too long to do that, but in that time I may as well save myself the money and just plug my phone in. Will be looking for a more reliable option and suggest anyone reading this does the same.

This is a great unit for using Android Auto without having to remove your phone from your bag or jacket to plug it in. Unfortunately, the first unit I received worked OK for a couple of weeks, and then stopped working. Amy from Ottocast support was very good, replying to my e-mails very quickly, and eventually sending me a new unit, which appears to be working satisfactorily now.

I bought this a little wary of whether it would work reliably as there's such variation across both car head units and Android phones I was expecting some trouble. But no. Apart from sometimes taking a bit longer than I'd like to connect, it's been rock solid. I've noticed no different in features or performance to when I connected my phone (Pixel 6 Pro) by cable to my car (Mk7 VW Golf). My phone's USB port is dying and making cable connection patchy, so this has extended the life of my phone by a reasonable amount of time as I don't have to replace it to use Android Auto reliably. Recommended.

Der OTTOCAST hält tatsächlich, was die Artikelbeschreibung verspricht: kabelloses CarPlay nahezu ohne Unterschiede zur kabelgebundenen Variante. Kurz zu meinen (Vor-)Erfahrungen: Seit ich CarPlay (leider nur per Kabel) in meinem Auto habe (KIA von Ende 2018), bin ich auf der Suche nach Möglichkeiten, das Ganze zu vereinfachen. Ich habe mir mittlerweile schon ein kabelloses Apple MagSafe Ladegerät an einer magnetischen Getränkefach-Halterung installiert, jedoch musste ich das iPhone bis jetzt immer ans Kabel anstecken und später wieder abstöpseln. Ich habe verschiedene Geräte probiert, die eine Nachrüstung von Wireless CarPlay versprechen und hier auf Amazon erhältlich sind, aber bislang waren die Erfahrungen eher ernüchternd. Funktioniert hat es in den meisten Fällen zwar, aber die Nutzung hat sich ohne Kabel deutlich verschlechtert – seien es starke Verzögerungen oder sogar Abbrüche der Verbindung. Ich nutze CarPlay vor allen zum Navigieren und zum Musik hören, teilweise auch zum Diktieren von Nachrichten/Erinnerungen oder zum Telefonieren. Dann bin ich durch Zufall auf den OTTOCAST gestoßen. Und was soll ich sagen: Es ist ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Im Einzelnen: Von Beginn an lief CarPlay über den OTTOCAST deutlich flüssiger als auf ALLEN anderen Geräten, die ich ausprobiert habe – und das waren nicht wenige. So macht Wireless CarPlay richtig Spaß. Abstürze hatte ich bislang noch keinen einzigen, toi toi toi… Allerdings habe ich zunächst doch eine leichte Verzögerung bemerkt. Und ich habe gesehen, dass es per Online-Update ein Update zur Behebung von BugFixes gab. Die Aktualisierung brach jedoch immer ab. Ich habe daraufhin den Support kontaktiert. Zugegeben, es hat wegen Missverständnissen etwas gedauert bis zur Lösung - das könnte noch verbessert werden. Und es war eine ziemlich seltsame Erfahrung, weil ich auf Deutsch geschrieben und Antworten zum Teil auf Deutsch oder Spanisch erhalten habe. Aber als das Online-Update weiterhin nicht funktionierte, hat man mir ein Update per PC angeboten. Mit dem neuesten Update (1501-221123) läuft der OTTOCAST nochmals besser. Das einzige Lagging stelle ich jetzt noch fest, wenn ich ein Lied vor oder zurück schalte – das dauert einen kurzen Moment, ist aber verschmerzbar. Zumal die App in CarPlay direkt reagiert (Anzeige ändert sich) und nur das Anspielen des neuen Titels dauert einen Moment länger. Im Übrigen habe ich in den ersten Wochen der Nutzung absolut keine Probleme. Selbst das gleichzeitige Navigieren und Musik abspielen akzeptiert das Gerät ohne Weiteres und ohne Verzögerung oder Ausfall. Das Navigieren durch das CarPlay-Menü ist von der kabelgebundenen Nutzung nicht zu unterscheiden. Ich würde mir den OTTOCAST auf jeden Fall wieder kaufen, auch wenn er teurer als andere Geräte ist - Hauptsache, er funktioniert!

fahre seit 2 Jahren ein Lexus UX 250h BJ 2021. Anfangs gab es bei mir keinerlei Probleme, nur das Handy meines Mannes wurde hin und wieder vom Android Auto nicht unterstutrzt (mal hat es funktioniert mal wurde die Verbindung getrennt). Bei mir hat das Problem erst angefangen als ich mir vor ca 2 Monaten ein neues Smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S gekauft habe. Da ging es, was das Android Aoto betrifft, gar nichts mehr. Es konnte keine Verbindung hergestellt werden, alle andere Funktionen (telefonieren, Music...) haben super funktioniert. Habe 2x den Lexushändler und 1x den Kundenservice kontaktiert. Nichts!!! Ich musste mir anhören, dass das mitgelieferte Kabel kein Datenkabel sei, ich mir vielleicht lieber besseres Handy am besten auch direkt ein neues Auto kaufen soll, solche Dinge halt. Das mein Smartphone, was das Android Auto betrifft, im Mazda und Peugeot beide BJ 2021 super funktionierte, interessierte niemanden. Herablassender und ignoranter geht es nicht. Übrigens ein Bekannter von mir hat seit neustem das Problem beim Iphone und neuem Auto Marke Seat. Ich habe nach Möglichkeiten gesucht und bin auf dieses Gerät gestoßen. Habe 2 Hersteller (wegen der Kompatibilität Auto- und Smartphonemodel) angeschrieben.Die habe mir alles bestätigt aber dazu geraten es zuerst mit Kabel zu probieren, wenn das gehen wurde dann funktioniert auch das Adapter. Da es bei mir mit dem Kabel nicht funktionierte dachte ich mir das wird nichts. Dann habe ich eine Rezension gelesen die das selbe Problem schilderte was ich es hatte, und bei dem jenigen hat's funktioniert. Also habe ich mir das Gerät bestellt und einfach ausprobiert. Bin kein technikgeübter Mensch und kann kein englisch. Habe mich an den Bildern orientiert und innerhalb maximal 2 Minuten hat sich alles verbunden und funktioniert super. Ich war sprachlos und begeister zugleich. Es geht auch einfach, Danke an diejenigen die sich so was ausgedacht haben. PS der Bekannter von mir hat sich so ein Adapter, nur halt für Iphone, gekauft, und es funktioniert auch.

La respuesta táctil en la pantalla del automóvil fue fluida y precisa, lo que hizo que la interacción con las aplicaciones fuera realmente agradable. Otra ventaja notable de Ottocast Wireless CarPlay es su integración perfecta con los controles del automóvil. Pude acceder y controlar fácilmente las funciones de reproducción de música, ajustar el volumen y navegar por los mapas utilizando los botones y perillas en el volante y en el panel de control. Great product when is working! It is little bit 50/50 when starting up if it will connect or not. Otherwise when it's connected it is working 100%.
