Great watch, for an amazing price
Great watch and a great bargain for the price. I got the brown/gunmetal/tan. The colors in the product photos are VERY off - which I knew when buying, thanks to someone else's review photos here. So take a look at those user photos if you're considering that color. I think the actual colors are much nicer than the product photos. It's more of a greyish color dial, but on the warmer/browner side; the gunmetal is a nice dark gray, not black like the photos show; and the band is lighter tan. I decided to get a single pass tan leather strap for it, and it looks and feels great on it. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a quality, reliable, and classic watch for a very good price. Also, for people who say it's loud and you can hear it from across the room: rest it on its side. The back being in contact with a surface amplifies the ticking sound a lot.

Timex Expedition Scout 40mm
The Timex Expedition Scout 40mm is a classic, affordable field watch with a 40mm case and clean, easy-to-read dial. Its quartz movement is reliable, and the INDIGLO® backlight makes it easy to read in low light. The watch is water-resistant to 50 m, suitable for splashes and brief swimming. Pros: Great value for money Comfortable and lightweight Practical features like date display Cons: Basic strap quality Ticking can be loud in quiet settings Backlight occasionally dim Overall: A dependable, stylish, and budget-friendly field watch for everyday wear.

Unbelievable watch. You won't be disappointed!
Overall, for the $45 I spent on this watch, I feel like I won the watch lottery. It looks equally amazing in jeans and t-shirt as it does in my suit and tie when I go to work. It has an understated coolness/elegance to it. I definitely recommend this quality, reliable, beautiful Timex Expedition Scout 43mm as a daily wear watch or as an occasional wear in your collection rotation! I have an extensive watch collection (regular person watches, nothing "luxury" ... that's a laughable term for a watch, IMO). I have all categories of quartz watches; dive, pro dive, dress, casual, vintage/retro, knock-about, etc., with all bracelet/strap types and I was surprised that this watch has emerged as my absolute favorite of all of them. I think it is the perfect size (43mm wide and 11mm thick case) and the black coated brass case is gorgeous, lightweight, and durable. The main numbers and indices are large and very readable at a glance. Readability is further helped by the contrast between the black dial and the white number and indices. The dial includes an inner circle of smaller numbers that show military time, which is useful. The seconds hand has an orange tip, making it very easy to see against the background. The medium brown leather strap has beautiful contrast stitching and a case-matching black buckle, which I thick looks amazing. The leather seems to be good quality and I think it will look even better as it ages and becomes softer and wrinkled. There is no lume on the watch but it comes with Timex's excellent Indiglo lighting, which works just fine in the dark. The date window kind of blends in with all the numbers and indices but once you get used to where it sits on the dial, it's no problem to see. This watch looks SO MUCH BETTER in real life than in these photos. In fact, the case almost looks gray in the photos, but it's a very nice dark black color in real life. It has a mineral glass crystal, which is fine and expected for the price, but you could easily replace that with sapphire if you ever wanted to. The movement is a reliable Myota quartz movement.

Solid watch with a long band; easy to read, but the band feels cheap. Great value for the price.
The Timex Expedition Scout is a solid choice for a watch. The band is long enough to comfortably fit my larger wrists, which is a significant plus. It's easy to set, stylish, and very readable. Band Quality However, I do have a couple of concerns. Although the band is lengthy, it feels somewhat cheap, and I've noticed that the holes are wearing down a bit. Overall Impression Despite these drawbacks, I believe this watch offers great value for the price. It’s a simple yet well-made piece that I expect will last for a long time. Overall, I’m quite pleased with my purchase.

Good.
Not the exact color as in picture but still nice. Feels great and looks high quality. I bought it to wear as my daily watch. I really like it. Color is a bit lighter than expected, I was expecting an almost black color.

Nice watch.
A nice Timex Expedition with Indiglo light and leather band. Very readable dial. The light stitching on the band is not my favorite.

So good I bought Two!
I’ve picked up the Timex Expedition Scout twice now in different variations, and that should tell you everything, you don’t rebuy a watch unless it’s doing something right. This is my go-to when I want rugged dependability without overthinking it. It’s tough, straightforward, and just works. No extra frills, just a reliable watch you can throw on and trust every day. It has that classic field watch look Timex is known for, and it wears comfortably whether you’re out running errands or doing something a little more hands-on. What really makes this watch stand out is the value. Especially when Amazon runs their frequent sales, it feels like you’re getting way more than what you paid for. If you want a no-nonsense, reliable everyday watch that can take a beating and keep going, this is an easy choice.

Satisfied
I'm tough on watches, not sure why, but a watch only seems to last for 2, maybe 3 years on my wrist. I don't have a high intensity, physically demanding, kind of job. I'm pretty sedentary. For several years I've been buying a well known brand of watch, paying in excess of 200 bucks for a digital watch with an assortment of functions; barometric altimeter, thermometer, chronometer, day and year, solar power, etc. And with the exception of the solar power, those high cost functions were not used, and on the rare occasion that they were used, they were found to be unreliable and inaccurate. A few months ago my watch started exhibiting signs of failing so I decided to go back to the basics and ordered this analog Timex. For now I'm not happy but I am satisfied. It keeps good time and it's smaller and less obtrusive than the large size digital predecessor. It does NOT have luminous hands or luminous hour tic marks. That's a minus when I wake up in the middle of the night and want to know the time. My previous watch had a small button that, when pressed in the dark, would activate an internal light and allow me to see the digital time. I miss that feature.
