Fit and function as original. Cables and ends are a little thinner than stock but they still hold me standing on the tailgate. Got the set of 2 for the cost of 1 original.

Install was very easy, no issues at all. they fit both sides of my 97 Silverado. Not the same gauge cable as the stock ones, but they seem to be doing a good job.

A few years ago,One side of my old 97 GMC Sierra trucks Tailgate cable broke!I finally got around to ordering a pr yesterday &They were only $10,Very cheap!But not cheap on quality!They are as others have said a bit thinner on the cable ,But feel very TOUGH&I tested them and they can definitely handle the stress of that heavy tailgate when in the down position!I'm confident they will last as long as the original pair did.It was very easy to put them on,And it took like 10-12 mins tops!It only took that long because it was hard getting the old screws off,As they've been on for decades lol. These cables are exactly the right length and have ends identical to the OEM cables. They went on quickly and feel like they'll last quite a long time. (first replacement on a '94 Chevy pickup).

Smaller gauge cable than OEM not sure if it will hold up the test of time
