Ferret Nation Scatter Guard Upper

Finally found a cover for my cage. I'm not sure why it's so hard to find ones for bird cages when they're supposed to be covered at night. I don't have the same brand of cage but it has similar measurements. It's a little big which is okay. I have perches and his light on the outside so snug wouldn't work anyway. It looks better than my blanket and sheets over the cage. Easier to get in as well. It also makes moving it a bit easier since I don't have to worry about the wheels getting stuck in it. It's a good value for your money. The cheapest option I could find that would actually cover my whole cage. The build quality is a bit cheap. I have zip ties on my cage and I'm afraid they'll rip it. My green cheek was also immediately interested in the Velcro. The door opening is fine if you can just toss it in top. My light is up there however and I have to put it off to the side.

This cage cover works for the single unit ferret nation as well, if you're willing to trim it. It's very easy to use a regular pair of scissors to trim the length off so that it fits the single unit ferret nation. I haven't noticed any fraying of the cut fabric after a week, so I highly recommend this cover for both units. It took us about 5 minutes to cut it to length. Very easy to put on, very satisfied.

I got it to fit in my cage that wasn't made to have this shelf. It will do just fine. I have a 22x32x49 cage and this makes for a great separation a sleeping area, an eating area and a potty area.

This very much does the job I need it to do. It keeps my ferrets from pooping over the edge of the tray since they think they must aim for the sky each and every time giving my newly painted wall a fresh crusty paint job. I do have a couple that pull on the edges and try to get behind it which is a bother, cause the sides come unattached easily. The clips go over and under the tray which is what holds it into place on all sides. The food that they spill out gets trapped under the edges so I have to be sure and lift when cleaning to get all the bits out. And once a week I remove the tray to clean trapped hair and mess behind and under. But the clips catch on the bars of the cage making it difficult to get out. Although I'd rather it be difficult to get out than easy for them to disassemble. I clean the cages daily with a vinegar, bleach and water spray and after time the coating is coming off and it rusts. This is becoming a big issue and I'm worried they are going to lick the rust. May try another option or brand of I can find one. I'm fine with it being flimsy, I just rather it not rust. I have 4 cages so the cost is up there for these. Please find a fix for that. Be sure to measure your tray. It fits well if you do. All in all, I much rather have these than not.

the top scatter guard works amazing for ferret nation 183 this one was super easy to install and was easy to put on the tray(btw) it's easier to install the panels with the tray outside the cage .. I think I read something that someone was trying to do it while the pan was in the cage.. I'm pleased with the fit. When putting together they're a tab you bend it to help secure it.The bottom scatter gaurd I had a slight issue with the first one Item side gaurds are too big by a half inch to 1/4 inch on the sides can't install it to my pan for my ferret nation 181. some of the pieces were slightly damaged but the boxes are not. Was returned before Im thinking? for the same issue because of the damage on the part that snap together. I ordered another one it was slightly better but still a little too big on the side, it doesn't fit in the pan on one side and sits up causing a gap. Maybe I'll order another and see if I have the same issue for the bottom scatter gaurd. If so I'll probably modify it to fit correctly.

It fit on the actual pan but leaves a huge gap between the deep pan and the cage it was a little difficult putting it together because all of the pieces kept on falling the overall quality of its basic purpose of having a deeper pan 70% works the only complaints is that it leaves a huge gap and bedding still spills out.

I mean it’ll work but I have a critter nation for rats and I have 4 juvenile rats that love to run around in the outside of the scatter guard since it leaves a pretty fair sized gap they can get in still. They’ll grow past it but if you have babies or smaller rats they will get behind it and still make a mess. Good steel guards though. Still have to use the plexiglass guards behind it though to keep them from throwing stuff out.Updated to one star. They’re built well but if you have rats they’re useless they just get behind them and make a hell of a mess. Get something that goes on the bars instead and a deeper pan. This might work if you have really big rats however my females aren’t that big and can get behind these easily. They just peed and pooed everywhere behind them.. 10/10 don’t recommend for rats! There is way too much space left between the edge of this and the cage.
