I asked for one of these as a gift for myself, thinking it would make a good little stress-reliever at my desk, but my husband loved it so much, it has never left the kitchen. When we have company over, people stand at the counter and watch this thing for hours. We've given half a dozen as gifts. The white, black and gold sand combination is beautiful, and looks great in our kitchen. Here's a little trick: if you turn the glass gently and wait for the little bubbles to line up all the way across, the sand can trickle for hours. Mesmerizing.

The media could not be loaded. I love this sand art. It’s never the same picture twice and so nice to watch it change. It’s beautiful, relaxing, and fun.However, it is hard to get to work. When it first arrived, all the sand was swirled into the middle in one big cloud. The trick to creating good pictures is to get a steady line of big bubbles underneath all the sand so that the sand can fall in streams. At first, this can be a little challenging, but after 15 minutes I got the hang of it. The more and more I play with it, the better and better pictures I can make, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a good picture right away, and whatever you do don’t shake it. It’s tempting to shake around the sand like a snow globe, but this just breaks up big bubbles into small bubbles and makes the same pass through them easily creating no pictures.

Gave as a gift for my son for his office and he loves it.

This mountain sand art is beautiful! It came a little cold sense its winter and took a minute to warm up but it was fully intact and nothing broken. It came with instruction of how to get it to fall better. That was a little helpful but I found just tapping the sides lightly where the bubbles meet the sand worked to help sand flow. I got this for my dad for Christmas for his office. I was worried it would be broken when I got but it wasn't, my kids and I have loved watching the sand fall as it thawed and see the sparkly mountains form. Now to pack it back up and wrap it for christmas. I love it! Might just get one for myself.

The only reason this did not get 5 stars is it is a sealed system. I have had one like this for 20+ years and still works today, because I can adjust the water and air in the unit. This unit is sealed and was hoping it would not need adjusting but starting to see that one day it will and I will not be able to adjust. Great purchase, looks great... I did buy two.. one larger and one smaller... would I buy again, the jury is still out on this question.

I was hesitant to purchase due to the price, but so thankful that I did. Excellent craftsmanship and stunning colors! It's so calming to watch and every time it's flipped the end result is so beautiful and different! This would make a perfect gift for a home or office.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend to celebrate his new office at work. I was looking for something that was a kind of cheesy/cliche office gift but this 'sandscape' is honestly fantastic. We could not stop watching it last night after the package arrived. We both love how the gold falls with the sand and every image created after the sand settled was so perfect and pretty. It's also kind of calming to watch so definitely a good idea for a stressful work environment. I am most likely getting another one for my office and I can't say enough nice things about this product, especially for the price. I recommend this 100%.

It makes some interesting scenes when rotated over the day. I have used it in portrait and landscape modes to vary the scenes. Seems to be built quite solidly - however I would like to have a heavier metal stand to hold the frame.

My 12 year old daughter spends a hour each day playing with this. She says it’s very relaxing and therapeutic. Her tips to make beautiful pictures is to get a thin layer of small bubbles underneath the sand when you flip it. It took a good hour to get the sand to flow slow the first time she started playing with it. It came packaged very well. I love how there are two different sides, one with a mirror border and one with with a black stripe and a mirror border.

Had one of these way back, and was as fascinated then as I am now. The product is very well made and looks great.

This item is really beautiful and extremely well made the glass is thick and clearly quality and the sand colors are gorgeous. I bought another sand art piece from a company, not on Amazon, which was more expensive and nowhere near as well made. If you are looking for a gift or a nice piece for yourself don't hesitate to buy this.
