Help support their sensory needs in school, appointments and even in the car and at home in style. I became so tired of boring and plain sensory items so I decided to research products and fabrics until I found the perfect solution Calmyz lappads were born and have they been a hit! In fact, even our kids without sensory needs have their own calmyz lap pad for TV time. The resilient fabric can just be wiped down - perfect for school or daycare. Encase they get super dirty - then just pop them in the washing machine!! Our design is actually tattooed into the fabric and will never fade with proper washing (no bleach). We also wanted to make sure our Calmyz sensory lap pad's are durable. They are serged around the inside edges (like the inside of your jean's) and then safety sewn around the outside edge. After MUCH TESTING with our kids and their friends, we found that sewing channel's allowed the kids to fold over the lap pad if they wanted more weight in a smaller area. (our 1 lb do have a center seam). Determining weight is personal preference and your OT might be able to help. 1lb - toddler, 2lb - preschool, 3lb - early elementary, 4- lb elementary, 5 lb - older. The rule of thumb of 10% of your child's weight also works.
