CUTE SMALL-TOWN ROMANCE 🌸
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰♡𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒔♡🌸Grumpy x sunshine🌸Opposites attract🌸Dual pov🌸Instant attraction🌸High school crush🌸Small town romance🌸Secret admirer🌸Slow burn♡𝒎𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔♡This book was my third read from the author and omg, it was so CUTE!I loved the dynamic between Julian and Hallie. Julian was our grumpy type A professor who has a perfect to do list and timing for every work. Whereas, Hallie was our feisty, free – spirited gardener who lives on wine! They may be opposite to each other but they fit together perfectly. This was such an adorable romcom! I saw this book on bookstagram and I was like – I need this book right now!!I did not regret it a bit. It's an easy to digest, quick and fun read and I loved every moment I spent reading this book, what a pretty pink cover though!!Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5Instagram page: @bookishreads__

Not the best of Tessa Bailey
Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey, the first book in the "A Vine Mess" series, a steamy new rom-com about a starchy professor and the bubbly neighbor he clashes with at every turn... I have read almost every book by the author in the past and this one just did not work for me.I did not care about either characters - Hallie Welch or Julian Vos. It took me a while to finish this book because the entire secret admirer thing in the plot was just something that caught my attention in the start but later in the plot felt quite force-fed.However, what Tessa Bailey is known for are her steamy and hot rom-coms which did the best part of the plot as always for me and I am sure for her other readers and lovers as well. Hallie as a character was much better than Julian Vos. However, if you are someone who is new to reading adult romance as a genre, then definitely pick this up.

a fun read
My first book by the author. Oh man, the spiciness really hit me when the gloves were off and the main characters were romping in the dirt.Hallie had a crush-love on Julian at age fourteen and they had nearly kissed. When she met him almost a decade later for landscaping his garden, the crush flared up. But there was just a tiny snag. He just didn't remember her.A drunken evening and a love-like letter was left in the crook of a tree for the strait-laced professor had her becoming a Secretly Yours admirer.Hallie was chaotic and fun with dogs and flowers running amok, and Julian was rigid and regimented where every minute was committed to a particular task. The universe, and the author, couldn't have paired two individuals so different from each other. The atmosphere in the entire book was cozy and warm, where colors and wine abounded.I enjoyed the letters too because it was easier to pour our thoughts into a letter using pen and paper. There was something personal about itBut there were a few niggles.Let's be straight. I love dirty talks in books, but for a rigid professor to suddenly talk in that manner, I was taken aback as it was not embedded in his characterization..The chemistry between the main leads could be made to sizzle a lot more.A crisis and dark thoughts and the professor froze up. Then walked away. And the reason for him to do that felt a little frivolous.Overall, the book was explosive like the bright colors of the flowers. And to be frank, this book not only brought me joy but also the cover was so soothing to my eyes. Well recommended.

Enjoyable summer read
I really enjoy Tessa Bailey’s writing, its easy to read and a joy to devour!Tessa has a knack for adding depth to her characters that make them seem more human and while slightly imperfect still completely loveable. On paper Hallie and Julian really seem like they shouldn’t work, they couldn’t be more opposite but their journey to finding love had me laughing out loud at times and unable to put the book down. Particularly a certain Cheese stealing scene 🫣😂I would 10/10 recommend this book to anyone who wants a easy read for the summer and is looking for a romance.

Loved it!
It's tough knowing where to begin, but maybe I'll start off with the fact that sometimes I'm glad I took a chance on a really hyped book. I can hardly scroll through my timeline without seeing at least something from Tessa Bailey! Now I understand why.I don't normally read 'funny' or 'comedic' books. That being said, I would classify this as more of a lighthearted book, though it did have some humorous moments! If you enjoy quirky heroines, and extremely uptight, starchy heroes, this will likely be your jam! Does it require a suspension of belief? Yes. Did that matter to me? No, not in this instance. As long as I'm vibing, I will roll with it.Hallie and Julian really could not be any more opposite from each other. On the one hand, we have a woman who is as quirky and bumbling as her three dogs, and is not afraid to get her hands dirty. On the other hand, we have a rigid, professorial hero that hates disfunction or anything disturbing his routine and is a cinnamon roll at heart. (I love him already.) As the old phrase goes, they were perfectly imperfect for each other. What they learn in their courtship process is that there can be a happy, satisfying compromise between their two worlds, and that their worlds can--and should--exist together.Yes, this is the miscommunication trope on steroids. Yes, the secret admirer aspect is cutesy and we have a third act breakup. And yes, there's really not much conflict in the book other than the miscommunication. But sometimes, you just need a cute, feel-good read that's uncomplicated, ok? To me, this was one of those rare books where all of these things combined into a great story, with a great message: the people around can inspire you to grow into a better version of yourself and inspire you try something outside of your comfort zone.Lots of spice. Lots of swoonworthy moments. And the ending? Probably the greatest grand gesture of all time. So. Freaking. Cute.Overall, a great balance of humor, heat, and heart.

Blooming lovely!
Two broken souls who needed time to knit together but got there in the end. I wanted to know more about uncorked- I hope it went bump and the disco ball rolled down the street!
