The Magic School Bus: Greatest Original Episodes

My five year old daughter tends to pick up on things she hears in TV shows quickly and mimic it in her everyday conversation. I noticed she was starting to imitate some over-dramatic, whiny behavior/language after watching certain newer TV shows, so I decided it was time to introduce her to some classic TV shows that teach something useful and offer examples of behavior I would prefer to have her imitate. I ordered DVDs of Magic School Bus, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and Reading Rainbow. Let's just say, after a week of watching a Magic School Bus episode each day, it has been an amusing breath of fresh air to hear my daughter say, "According to my research..." (with exactly the same tone and inflection as D.A.) every now and then instead of the silly stuff she used to repeat from other shows. The Magic School Bus is such a fun, enriching, wholesome show, a perfect blend of entertainment and education. The classic episodes on this DVD are some of my favorites and my daughter is really enjoying watching them!

As a teacher I spend a lot of my own money trying to make things interesting for second graders. I took a chance on which episodes were on this because none were listed. If you own any discs already you will find that you probably already have these. So you don't make the same mistake I did, the episodes are: For Lunch, Inside Ralphie, Flexes Its Muscles, Kicks Up a Storm, Going Batty, Lost In Space, and The Busasaurus. Wish this was part of the product description so I didn't waste money.
