Please test these leashes and keep testing them over time they seem to come loose and unexpectedly unfasten very scary!!!
At first we thought this leash was just what we needed to get for our dog of 12 months who had a history of chewing through the all the others we figured the chain part was just enough to discourage this behavior. It worked good at first then she figured out how to leap up beyond to chain part to the upper canvas so much for that we had to redirect her a lot on that so that got better. After having this leash for a month and a half out of no where the clip to the collar came unfastened this happened twice and that was not going to happens third time we bought anouther leash not another one of these. We don’t understand why it was properly clipped on the collar tightly. Then while walking her out in the yard that is not fenced in on a very busy road thankfully both times I was able to get her however this could have been bad. It was faulty and I would not buy this again. It seemed like the perfect leash dissatisfied and disappointed.

The padded handle to this leash is great and we love the bright purple color
My 1 yr old labradoodle was chewing up 1 leash a month so I decided to give this leash a try. She gets excited for walks and would grab the leash to pull me towards the door. This leash (along with training and positive reinforcement) has helped her learn not to chew on leashes. I use a nylon leash for our runs (this one is not HEAVY but is not light enough for running) and she has stopped biting on that one as well. The padded handle to this leash is great and we love the bright purple color. Highly recommend for chewy pups.

Defective Handle Clamp
We like that the collar deters our 11 month old Shepherd mix from chewing, that it is comfortable to hold and that it is relatively lightweight (I have no trouble jogging with it), but the clamp used to create the handle is defective. The handle was created using a metal clamp, but the clamp is not strong enough to prevent the loop from being pulled tighter and tighter when the dog pulls on the leash. It became impossible to put more than a finger through the loop within 2 months of owning it. So, my husband loosened the metal clamp and created a new loop. About 1-2 weeks later the clamp completely broke. We can still use it but we have to wrap the leash around our hand.

Just the leash I need it... and UPDATE
Good.My puppy can try to give the occasional nibble, but unlike the all chain leashes, this doesn't destroy my hands if I had to twist it around it to shorten it if she pulls.Update:The leash is still intact but by using it I found the handle uncomfortable I would have preferred a smooth handle maybe made of a different material (my puppy scarred it with just a tiny bite). Now I use this leash only when I know she will be likely to try to chew on it.

Great leash, even for strong dogs
Although this leash is only 4 feet it actually allows for greater control of my 22 lb, 3 month old pit bull puppy. She's ridiculously strong and her regular leash didn't provide sufficient tensile strength for training. The metal portion near the collar prevents her from chewing and the handle adds a lot of control.

Very Good Quality
I love how well this leash is made. It's so comfortable to hold, even when my six month old mastiff puppy decides to pull. I also really love that it's chew resistant. My dog doesn't chew on her leashes now, but this would have saved me in the beginning, when she was teething and had razor blades for teeth.

Disappointed
We've had the leash three months. Our 45.lb lab/pit mix has almost chewed through the rope part of the leash. The loop for the handle cake unattached when she pulled the other day. And the comfort grip handle was chewed by our pup the first day we had it. I wouldn't recommend this leash if you have a strong chewer.

The handle is very comfortable to use but unfortunately my puppy wants the handle ...
A little short. The handle is very comfortable to use but unfortunately my puppy wants the handle and jumps around to get it.The chain part does discourage leash chewing and that was my original goal.
