very delicious!
konichiwa!I got a sweet message from the seller asking for a review, so here it is.I am not super well versed in Japanese teas but I like sencha a lot and have been struggling through some not so great teas so I felt willing to pay a little more for an organic sencha from Japan. I've heard here and there that there can be toxicity issues with tea from China so I am trying to avoid that. When brewed as per the instructions on the container, the tea has a beautiful, complex flavor, with some sweetness and a lovely aroma. They are instructing to brew at 140* f so the tea is at a temperature to drink right away. When brewing at 140* water will take around 10 minutes to cool to that temperature from boiling. When brewed with my quick american method (boil water, pour out into another container to cool slightly, then into teapot right away- thus, water is hotter) The tea is stronger, a bit more bitter and probably less subtle. (Which I like). This is to say, that your brewing method will make a difference in the flavor of tea, try the method on the container first so you can taste the flavor of the tea as intended.a teaspoon makes about 2 cups of strong tea, and the same tea can be used to make a second cup.thanks for the lovely tea!

Delicious green tea
After researching the different kinds of green tea, I chose this tea leaf based on the fact that it was organic, loose leaf, and grown in Japan! China has been shown to have more toxicity in the leaves so I will not purchase a Chinese based green tea.My Dad has cancer so I wanted a pure, delicious, wonderful tasting tea for him to enjoy. My entire family enjoyed this tea and their comments are that it is smooth, meaning it is not bitter, aromatic, buttery and nutty tasting. If you follow the brewing instructions, you will NOT be disappointed. There is an entire art to brewing and enjoying tea and this Sencha tea will NOT disappoint you!!After we brew the tea, I use the tea leaves in preparing a smoothie for my Dad; this is the other reason I was searching for an organic tea. After drinking lots of green smoothies, I find that the green tea leaves adds another dimension to the drink. Where green smoothies can be bitter, the tea leaves change the flavor and the bitter is not so harsh. It is very tasty and the bitter makes you want more! :)We are very happy that we purchased this tea from Mr. Suzuki. We will be purchasing more!

Terrific daily tea
We weren't expecting much from this loose leaf tea. But it's much better than the organic green tea we normally get at our food coop--deeper green and fresh-tasting. And thanks to its reasonable cost, you can make a pot every day for throughout the day drinking. We have no complaints. It's hard to find an organic green tea from relatively safe leaves (soil, manufacturing practices...). We've added this to our household staples.

Pleasant mild green tea
I don't know much about tea, but in the past few months I've tried a few different greens in search of one that could be a daily drinker. The most recent tea was grown in India and has a little bit of a milky taste which I enjoy. This tea tastes more like the greens I initially started with. It is mellow but still has a very good flavor. The vegetal taste is mild with little to no bitterness (depending on how long you brew), so I think this tea would work well for people new to loose leaf green tea. The color is a very nice light green. I do wish it came in a resealable bag, but other than that the packaging was good and seems airtight. I'm not sure why, but this tea gave me some tingling in the back of the throat (maybe b/c I used too much). It wasn't unpleasant, just unexpected. Anyway, at this point in time I don't have any negatives. I'll update my review if something unexpected happens (ex. quick degradation of taste in the next week or so).

This is not the Sencha you'd want.
If you are looking for a quality sencha, this may not be the one. Having tried a quality japanese sencha tea what I learned was the signiture grassy smell and taste, a nice pale, greenish yellow tea. I was able to refill once or twice and still carry a good taste and smell. The leaves are steamed and would have green to dark green color and can be shiny with very little stems if any. I am not an expert but those where my impression and became my standard. You won't get any of those mentioned above except light brown to yellow green tea color. When you look down on the cup I could tell that majority I got from this package are stems of the leaves. You would like to see the tips and that would give you the signature taste of the sencha. So the taste is more of the bark taste. It may be organic and grown in japan but you are getting maybe the leaves after the tips were harvested. Left over maybe? This is probably gonna sit on the side because I hate to throw stuff and open my Gyokuro. I hope people find this review helpful and move along and do more research and while at it spend a little more.

I made a mistake switching to this one
I used to buy another brand but switched to this one because the price was $10 cheaper per bag. Because of comments I've been seeing about this brand, I switched back over to the more expensive brand. There is a clear difference in the more expensive brand. The smell is fresher and the tea is greener. You get what you pay for. Based on this, I have to give this brand three stars and I'm not even sure if they're really organic. I believe they used to write organic in the title of the product but they seem to have removed it. I'll go back to buying the more expensive brand.

A Green Tea for Green Tea Lovers
This may be the best green tea I've bought. It has wonderful yet subtle flavor. And the value? If you divide the price of this tea by the number of cups of tea you get from this package, it works out to just pennies per cup

Very satisfying
I love the tea and it is always packaged well and on time. I am new to green tea and I add ginger and lemon to cover the tea taste but I don’t get jittery with this one and I feel better every day. I did receive an empty package the other day but Amazon sent a replacement out right away!
