The design is engraved into the wood box that has the edges scorched to give it a nice "forged by fire"/rustic/aged look and than stained with an oak stain. The inside top and bottom of the box are lined with black felt. It is a beautiful dedign
I bought this as a gift for a fireman. The design is very pretty however, the quality of materials is not what I expected for the price. The woodcon top is very thin and the clasp is very flimsy. The quality is just not what I was expecting it to be.
