Lock it up with confidence
This lock won't prevent someone from stealing your bike but it will definitely make them think twice about it. Bike thieves will usually go for locks that are easy to break, pick, or cut. This is because there's a risk reward system involved - i.e., the more difficult the lock the more time it will take for them circumvent it; meaning there's more probability that they will be caught. It's based on this principle that I purchased this lock and here's why: 1. unlike standard cable locks or more popular U-Locks, Chain locks are flexible, this usually makes them more difficult to cut with an ankle grinder (difficult to hold the chain steady while cutting) and less prone to force prying attacks (a common circumvention method to U-Locks.) The 10mm hex link chain design of this lock is a pain in the rear to cut or force apart. That's because the chain itself is made from an ultra strong and tough triple heat treated manganese steel. 2. This outer tube of the lock cylinder is made of hard 1/8th inch steel and the inner tube is reinforced with sturdy zinc, and the locking bolt is a thick steel bar. Lastly, the core that secures it all is a newer disc detainer core. What this all means that the lock itself is going to be extremely time consuming to break and extremely challenging to pick with out a specialize pick set. About the only negative things I can say about this lock is that it's bulky and heavy. Also, there's no easy way to secure it on my road bike while riding. Other than these complaints, I'd highly recommend this lock.

Very strudy and well made lock.
I haven't used yet but it is heavy and well made. I love the casing around the chain and also around the lock itself as a rubberized jacket. This will protect your bike.

These are serious locks. Someone will have to work hard to get through this one.
Incredible lock. Plus I love you can add a 1 or 2 year bike protection plan if your bike were to get stolen due to the lock failing. Level of coverage is determined by the rating of the lock you purchase. This lock has an 8/10 rating and covers up to $3000 toward your bike. These locks are very heavy so it will add weight to your ride but I feel more secure using this lock instead of my old cable lock.

THIS LOCK IS A LIFESAVER
I'm not going to lie, this lock is pretty heavy to carry around but it saved me $2500. Whatever you're locking up, make note that length of the lock is pretty short so you sometimes have to get creative. I recommend watching their "HOW TO USE THIS LOCK" video on their website for correct locking procedures. My bike was stolen in the middle of the night with this lock on my bike. It was left unattended for about 8 hours in San Diego outside my AirBnB in a shady area. When I awoke in the morning, GONE. Also make note that when filing your claim with Kryptonite you must provide them with a picture of the broken lock. If the thieves take the lock, you're screwed. You must also provide them with a picture of the original key and picture of a police report (must be filed within 7 days of theft). Thankfully, I had all of the required items. My bike was stolen on 06/10/2023 and I finally received reimbursement approximately 2 months later. It is a lengthy process and I did have to call customer service a few times to get the ball rolling but it was obviously worth it. I did purchase the 5 year coverage through Kryptonite which is extra $ but the lock comes with an automatic 2 year warranty already. I did buy another lock and highly recommend this specific lock which covers up to ~$3000. There are other Kryptonite locks that are cheaper but provide less coverage so check their website to find the lock appropriate for you.

A BEEFY lock - a little hard to use, but worth it
First off, I love this lock - it's strong as hell, and gives a strong visual deterrent to any thieves. I got the 35.5" version of this lock, and it weighs 6 lbs. Unfortunately, it's too short to wear bandolier, and if you get the longer version, it weighs 9lbs - a lot heavier than the old school bike chains wrapped in plastic. As far as security, any lock can be cut, but the chain will move under an angle grinder, and the thick links take a while to cut through - both reasons give this chain a high security rating. Other Pros - the keyhole can be covered for protection, and it comes with 3 keys Cons - the lock mechanism can be hard to use - you need to turn/wiggle the key a few times until successful. With practice however, it's not a deal breaker - don't let this stop you from getting this lock.

Great bike lock
This is the first big investment in securing my bike. I am using this on a $210 Huffy so I feel like this lock being almost half the value of the bike makes sense, and the build quality of the look seems pretty good. That said I will not be truly putting it to the test, and I hope it is never tested by any would be bike thieves. As for the function well it comes with two keys one has a small blue LED to light it up in the dark. I am going to say right now mine didn't really work so I removed the LED for a project, and the key does key things:P As for the lock its self. Well it weighs around 6lbs or double my $17 Kryptonite lock. The chain is a lot thicker than said lock, and the lock has a much better shackle/locking lug. There are pros and cons to that. the main one is you have to unlock the lock before you can lock the chain in place, or you have to leave the key in as you feed the chain through the bike rack. The cheap model you just shove the chain in while the lock is in the lock position and you're good to go. That said I'll take the slightly clunky nature of the evolution series 4 any day for the security it adds. All in all I'd say if you need a nice lock pick this one up. it is heavy, and clunky at times, but you have to ask if your investment into your bike is worth it. For me it was a no brainer since I use my bike as my primary transportation, and I'd rather spend $90 for a nice lock than $210 for a replacement bike. My other complaint would be this before I forget. this lock isn't super long so it only really works on one bike so riding partners will need their own lock, and the main thing that this only really fits bike racks, or thinner objects it wouldn't fit around a tree or street light for example, or at least I haven't been able to make that work.

As strong as they get
Based on a number of youtube bike lock reviews where they are cutting them off with battery powered angle grinders, this one got top marks. Also the YT LockPickingLawyer chose this one for his bike. Do your own research...but I think this is as good as it gets. Mine is about 16" in diameter, which seems be the sweet spot between convenient to carry and weight. It's heavy enough with those thick links, can't imagine carrying a longer one. One good point made in my research was that the wobbly nature of the chain makes it hard to hold the grinder in one spot...as opposed to the u-locks. I like the design of this one where there is no traditional padlock with a "U" shape. There is nothing long enough to attach a big vice. A determined thief with enough time on their hands can get through anything. You really just want to make them move onto a different bike nearby that is easier to steal. I did read a few reports where folks had trouble with this key getting difficult to turn as time went on. They built in a sliding keyhole rain cover to this unit, and I plan to add lubricant if it ever gets stiff...as I do to my car door locks. I bought this for my unicycle, but if I'd planned on using it for a bicycle, I might have opted for a longer chain. I can't carry much weight on the uni...and I only have one wheel to worry about.

Przypadkowa osoba z pewnością go nie pokona. Niestety, jest dosyć ciężki dlatego zdecydowałem się na zwrot i zakup innego produktu tego samego producenta.

Very good, still feels new after a year's use
I've been using chain locks for about 15 years, mostly to lock motorbikes. This is perfect for my bicycle. Very well made, finish is excellent, it feels new or nearly-new after a year. It's quite easy to use; this is a good length to lock frame and rear wheel to a solid object. I have always been able to do that with this chain. You might get away with a shorter one, but I like the flexibility. To carry it, I wrap it around the seat post, locking it to my rear rack in a manner that keeps it clear of my rear mudguard. I pair it with a Kryptonite New York Standard U-lock, also excellent. These locks may have a deterrent quality too, because no-one has even tried to steal my bicycle. The only drawback with this chain is that the lock mechanism is a little bit frustrating to use. The internal bolt will engage after only about a quarter turn of the key. It makes the lock fiddly and difficult to use, because you'll be trying to engage the bolt but without realising it, you've already turned the key far enough to have closed the bolt too early. It must happen to me nearly every day. If you had to turn the key further, like one full rotation, to engage the bolt, it would be a lot easier. But this is a small thing. Overall I think it's an excellent chain lock and also good value for such a great lock.
