Pan's snap filter set for iPhone 12/13 is a really simple but effective system for creating interesting photographic effects with your iPhone camera. You can definitely have a lot of fun experimenting and playing with the filters to create unique images.The kit itself is high quality, with premium materials and a smart design. The magnetic base works brilliantly with the magnetic feature of the iPhone, it snaps on securely but is easy to remove too. It does work best when attached directly to the iPhone, so you will need to remove any case - unless it is mag-safe compatible and completely flat. I did find having to take my case off each time a bit annoying but if you're planning ahead and leaving the case off for a day of taking shots it would be less frustrating. The filters click into the base easily and the release button is simple to operate when removing or swapping filters.This particular kit comes with a great range of filters. I've included some simple photographs to show how the black mist, gold streak and blue streak filters work compared to the normal iPhone camera. Interestingly, the star filter didn't work with the lamp. I've been happy with the results when using the filters so far, though you do need the right conditions to really make the most of their effects. As an amateur, I've found the colour streak filters easiest to use but am looking forward to learning how to make the best of the others.While the case maybe doesn't look as high end as the rest of the kit, I do like the magnetic section for storing the filter base, and that the filter pouches include a little gap so you can see the filter icon and easily pick which one you need. It is a little tricky getting the filters out of these pouches without getting fingerprints all over them but you can just about manage. The case only has enough room for 8 filters - so if you have the full set of 10, you'll have to decide in advance which ones to pack. Each of the filters comes packaged with a plastic, cushioned storage box that you can use when they're not in the case, which is handy.When fully packed, the case is lightweight, so easy to carry around should a photo opportunity arise. I think you're more likely to get great photos with this kit if you plan ahead though, as I mentioned, the filters need quite specific conditions to be effective.The main problem with this set is that it's built specifically for the iPhone 12/13. So if you regularly upgrade your iPhone, this kit will become obsolete quite quickly. I did try this with the iPhone 14, the base doesn't fit perfectly but the filters seemed to work okay more or less - whether this will be the same for next iPhone model though, is yet to be seen.

£270 at time of reviewOK these aren’t cheap, but compared to other quality filter sets on the market they’re actually comparable when you consider how many filters you get pus the very handy carry case. Snap do several sets with varying numbers of filters, this set is the complete set of filters in the range. I’ve had these a couple of weeks now & think they’re pretty good, quality wise they’re excellent, but also in use they’re so easy to use.Personally I will likely only ever use the mist & ND filters, the flare & starlight filters aren’t my thing. Over the years I have used filter sets from other manufacturers with varying success and have often not bothered with them after a while as they became a faff to use in the field, or I had to repeatedly purchase new cases when I upgraded phone etc. These state they are compatible with iPhone 12’s & 13’s, although I have read online they are also compatible with iPhone 14 (sorry don’t have one otherwise I would have tested it, but a google search should suffice).What makes these useable is the attachment via the MagSafe, making it easy to attach the mount and pack it away when not needed, with the last filter used still in the mount, which makes these very useable when in the field. Also not requiring a tight fitting case means they’re like to still fit when Apple bring out a new phone (as I mentioned they’re supposed to be compatible with the 14 too). Changing filters is easy too, they click nicely into place and can be swapped over in seconds, just press the release button and the filter slides out, for easy storing in the case. Talking of the case, that’s cleverly designed too, it has a MagSafe magnet inside too that holds the mount in place, and the label for each filter is easily visible too making selecting the correct filter a doddle.Overall these have been really well thought through and work really well, I recommend considering which filters you will actually useHope my review was helpful
