Very nice and very SHARP set of knives… I cut myself taking one out of the box. They do come with blade guards, but at the tip of the knives only. I cut myself with the back of the blade, so a blade guards at the back (or for the entire blade) would be a welcome addition. That said, I am very impressed with the quality of these knives. They were an excellent purchase at a great price.

The media could not be loaded. These knives are not only beautiful but incredibly, impressively SHARP!! They are extremely well crafted and that's what I needed to update my other knives that I was using beforehand in my kitchen. To be fair, I love my old set of knives to bits, but it's always a pain having to re-sharpen them so often. These knives, on the other hand, arrived super sharp and ready to slice and dice even the most dense meats I have in my kitchen. I was able to quickly to pork and sliced chicken delicately without having to draw or saw my way through them. That being said, BE CAREFUL with these as I did manage to cut myself when trying to cut through a potato. Thankfully, it was just a nick, the knife just dropped onto my fingertips and it seemed like it shouldn't have done anything to me, but sure enough the knife that barely grazed my fingers left a good enough slice to produce a few good drops of blood! So please be EXTREMELY safe with these as possible, even pairing them with cut proof gloves to prevent accidents like mine. As long as you take care of these, you'll have a beautiful set of knives that are good for carving, slicing, dicing and so on and are presented in a gorgeous box to give as a gift!

Amazing knives and very sharp

We purchased this knife set for our lake cabin and we have been very happy with our purchase. The knifes are easily stored on the magnet knife block and the knives themselves are extremely sharp and perfect for any cutting/chopping/carving needs we have

They're definitely solid, sharp, shiny and SERIOUS knives.The only reason I'm giving these a 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish they came with better protection for the blades for storage (they do not come with a knife block, I skimmed the description and assumed they did). They come wrapped in plastic with light cardboard sheaths. Also 4 stars instead of 5 because the information sheet could have been proofread and translated clearer.Do pay attention to the info sheet, though! The most important thing I learned is that you can't let these babies sit in water! They're not stainless steel so they rust. I carefully washed my set but there were a few standing water droplets in the dish drying stand and I did end up with a little rust after their first wash. Luckily I was able to catch it and get most of it off.The line pattern on the knives is not something you can feel with your fingers. It looks like it's printed on/etched but you don't feel anything. (I'm not sure what the point of the pattern is.)The "pebble" pattern in the carbon fiber (on the cleaver and boning knife) is interesting but I'm not sure what it's purpose is. It does have a rather "camping/hunting/general manliness" vibe.As for cutting, they're great! So far every knife I've used has cut with a blessed smoothness!

This is a quality personal knife set. I feel like a chef using these at home. They are heavier than regular knives and very sharp. I have used to slice bread, chop fresh herbs, and slice fruit. These knives chop and cut very easily, with little pressure from me, I can cut through fruit and vegetables. The handles are solid wood. The blades are carbon (stronger than stainless steel) and requires hand washing. If you want a really nice knife set to enhance your home cooking experience, these are very good. I'm happy with the value for money.

I have a set of knives but have to send them in to get sharpened all the time.This led me to snag these and I am sold! The weight balance of each one sits perfectly in the hand. The sharpness is 10/10. They are also aesthetic if you want to display them. I always reach for these over the cutco knives.I have had them for a month, and will update if I notice anything notable after extended use.Very happy with this purchase.

These are of a solid heavy construction. And really sharp. Be careful.
