The price is high but so it's the quality...
I have wanted handguards for my Goldwing for years and had considered modifying my own. When I saw these in Wing World I wanted them...but at $160 I had sticker shock too. It certainly stalled my purchase but after waiting a couple months I decided to get them. I was surprised how heavy duty they are. You do need tools to remove the clutch bolt and brake bolt. The video on YouTube did help with the installation but it doesn't mention that the hole for the clutch and brake bolt is threaded. The pins are so long that go through the holes I didn't realize they were threaded. Trying to figure out the clutch the small piston pin for the clutch lever fell out so I had to figure out how to put it back in. Turned out not to be that difficult. I had no issue with clearance of the clutch and brake leavers.I have Kuryakyn ISO grips with a throttle boss on my throttle. These handguards will fit but there is drag. I have to saw if your not an experienced rider this may not be safe for you because these guards do drag on the throttle so the throttle does not roll off as it should normally. I believe this should have been factored in when they were engineered as most Goldwing riders I know have the same grips I do. Mine are also a little thicker because I have heated grips. I already have a plan to correct this by drilling a hole at the end and installing a 'bridge" over the hole with a hold to fit the end bolt. This should keep the handguard secure and room for the throttle.I can't argue with those that think the price is so high. The value is more like $90. However, it's not the first thing I've bought for my Wing that I thought was high but bit the bullet and got it and glad I did. I just spend threes days in the rain on a cross country ride and glad I had them. They also allowed me to wear lighter gloves than I would normally. They can come off fairly easily and I guess some want them off in warm weather. So far I've them them on but as the season gets warmer I may take them off.All in all I'm happy with my purchase.

Too pricey
Great product, needs some refinement. Can not get a full lock to lock on the handle bars with out the protectors hitting my hands. Way too pricey for what you get. I bought them for 90 because I applied for the amazon credit card. Should be 70-90 dollar range. It is really nice to have on while riding in cold.(Vermont) I would not buy at 160. Don't misunderstand my review, this is a very functional product and well worth having but not at the high price

the installation was no problem after I watched the installation video. That was very important to see. The written installation instruction is not helpful at all.

Four Stars
Only four stars because I had to trim one of them to fit. Too expensive.

They are awesome. I had to shave a little plastic off for them to allow my brake lever to extend properly on the goldwing. Awesome.

Review of "Handguards" Accessory
Sometime over a month ago, while reading Wing World, a motorcycle magazine I receive, I noticed an advertisement for a new product called “Handguards.” I was immediately intrigued so I read the promotional advertisement. Since I have some blood circulation issues with my hands, I decided this product was exactly what I was missing! So, I ordered them without hesitation. Upon receipt, the Handguards were immediately installed and tested the next day. To say I was impressed would certainly be correct! I could ride my Gold Wing in much more comfort than had been the case previously – although my Wing does have heated grips. The absence of wind against the backs of my hands made a significant difference and, with only a minor heat setting on my grips, my hands were very comfortable. I have since ridden in temperatures as low as 5˚C in relative comfort, since the ambient air/wind is unable to neutralize the heat from my grips. I also had occasion to ride in the rain and the Handguards kept my gloves and hands dry and comfortable. To the inventors or the Handguards: You have developed a product that substantially increases my comfort level while riding. Thank you so much for this innovative and practical product! I love it!!Gordon MurphySt. John’s, NL

Cool idea if these were $29
Cool idea if these were $29.99, but $160?!?That’s just insane for basically two molded plastic cups and a couple screws, nuts and washers.
