The perfect basic knife.
Appreciate a knife for what it is. A basic cutting tool. Helle uses a high quality laminated blade planted into a richly grain curly maple grip, with a diamond shaped piece of iron or steel peened onto the blade tang at the butt end. Pure, solid, basic, high quality, simple cuttlery as might have been found anywhere in Scandinavia a thousand years ago. Uses the least amount of resources to create the perfect, general purpose, every-day knife. Pleaty of opportunity and material to add personal carving, reshaping, etc., if you are inclined. Leather, modestly decorated sheath.

Uneven grind with comfortable handle
Despite the "bland" shape of the handle, this knife feels like a sturdy representation of a traditional puukko-style knife. However, not only did the "scandi-grind" have a large secondary bevel, it was quite dull and would have required a significant amount of steel removal to make a true and sharp scandi. The difference in grind was clearly visible as the laminated steel showed how off-center the stock was. A beautiful knife but lacking in finish.

Shabby
Way overpriced for this quality of knife. It’s not very substantial, the grip isn’t centered on the tang, and the grind is horribly uneven. Looks like a sloppy machine made tool. I have several other Bushcraft knives and this is by far, the cheapest looking.

Amazing and Sharp!
The quality, design, sharpness, etc... are just amazing. This knife is worth every penny and I can't wait to use it some more on all my camping trip to come.
