Pump stopped working after 3 hours
Set pump up tonight and was working great. Bought so I could have enough power for pool vaccum. When I unhooked vaccum, I shut everything down so I could clean the strainer basket. Put everything back together so I could backwash. However now I can't get power to the timer to be able to turn unit on. I replaced the battery thinking maybe it was bad. When I put the new battery in everything lights up and goes off. Still won't let me turn on the pump. I know that it has power as I tested to make sure it was getting juice. Could that inline fuse need replaced already? I honestly just got it. Right now I am so disappointed with the unit. At first I was amazed. I hope that I can get some assistance on this quickly. Would hate to have to return as I just filled it with new sand. Update, it was a small issue. Company worked with me right away to get resolved. Email is quickest way to contact as they are busy. Happy with the fix.

Stopped working at 10 months, no warranty
The standard 1/4hp that came with my Intex and the small sand filter (like 10 inches) just wasn't getting the job done. Hurricane Ian decimated my clean pool, filling it with dirt, leaves, and sand from all over Florida. I quickly scooped out leaves and vacuumed debris, and the next day it turned green. For over 2 weeks, 10lb of shock over a dozen vacuuming cycles, all chemicals balanced, and it still was green on the walls and bottom. Bought this and the GLASS MEDIA instead of sand, vacuumed, and within 24 hours I could see the bottom and the next day was crystal clear. Still had to vacuum dead algae one more time off the bottom, but this pump/filter along with glass media gets the job done.***UPDATE JUNE 2023*** Lowered from 5 to 3 stars. Had this for 8 months and the hose split today, draining quite a bit of my pool while I was at work. Luckily I had a really long hose I can put in it's place till the small one arrives. Went to XtremepowerUSA's site to tell them of this defect in the hose, and got an email that they are so backed up that they would get to me when they could. When they did get back to me, they told me I could buy the hose for 30 bucks plus shipping from their webpage. I asked about the warranty and they said there is no warranty outside of the individual websites return window. Thank goodness the pump and filter still working, so I guess I will keep buying 25 dollar hoses from 3rd party suppliers because there'sno way I would buy a replacement hose from the same defective supplier as the one I already had.**UPDATE AUGUST 2023** Today the hose burst again due to poor design and flooded the pump (which now will not work). Paid over 250 bucks for something that lasted right at 10 months, and they say that there is no warranty on their product. DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP CRAP, YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Pump is good. Some of the parts are not
We bought a Bestway pool from Costco last year. The pool is great and the kids enjoyed it… until it turned green. No matter what I did, it would not get all the algae out, even with the vacuum. We abandoned the pool until the heat came back around this year.I did not heed the warnings and used the pump that came with the pool, a Bestway 1500GPH sand filter. I did everything I could to make it work, but the water continued to get cloudy. I took it apart, serviced it and when I put it back together, it started spewing some sand into the pool.I finally broke down and bought the XtremepowerUS 3,100GPH Swimming Pool 16" Sand Filter as an upgrade. Setup was luckily pretty easy, save a couple issues. I only put 100 pounds of sand in it. There are some conflicting amounts on the reviews on here, but it could be due to the size of their filter. Similar 16” filters range from 100 to 130 pounds of sand. Here’s were some of the negatives come in.1) When I put the flange clamp on the neck of the filter, it broke on one of ends when tightening it. I will definitely need to replace it, but made it work pending a replacement.2) The hose that goes between the pump and the filter was deformed where it flushes up to the rubber o-ring, causing a leak. I had to remove the hose and grind/sand it flush.3) One of the long hoses that came with it has a couple pinholes in it. Luckily, the Bestway filter hoses worked.4) All of the hoses internal area was deformed so much that they would not fit over the connections of Intex plunger valves or the output valve. Again, the hoses that came with the Bestway pump were needed.OverallThe pump and filter work great. The pool went from cloudy to clear in less than 48 hours and the kids are enjoying.

Good filter and easy to install
This filter is the best one so far. Works well for the pool that we have.

Great pump, first timer users will need adapters
UPDATE: Does my review below still make sense? Yes. But I felt it necessary to update this review after having a problem with the pump. The hoses that came with it failed, it happens, gets really hot here and they are always exposed. When they failed, they DRENCHED the control board for the pump. it filled with water and now it does not turn on at all, making it useless. Since the REST of the motor works, i figured on buying a new board direct from the company. Except it is out of stock. I have reached out via email and phone directly, and have received no replies, no help and have no other way to fix this pump. So I will have to get a replacement, of another brand. What a great piece of hardware for the price! The value is excellent. Has great horsepower and great suction. If this is a replacement unit, you know what you are doing already and have all you need.HOWEVER, if this is the first time you EVER put in a sand system, there is a 99 percent chance you will need some kind of adapters for the hoses. The included instructions are ... questionable. Watch some YouTube videos of installs to really get how this is supposed to be setup, they will be much more helpful than the paper instructions. The timer function is a good feature, but it would be GREAT if it was more intuitive. Your natural thought process for the pump is that when you turn it on, the pump is on constantly until you SET the timer. That is not the case here. When you turn it on, it immediately goes to the 2 hour setting and then shuts off until 24 hours pass, then it will come on again for 2 hours. So if you need it to run for X amount of hours, you need to set the timer, THEN turn it on.I wish I could tell you what adapters you will need for this. I had a Summer Waves pool that needed a 1.5in to 2in adapter. I was able to find what I needed at Lowes, but only after scouring the internet for hours. Lots of people have LOTS of solutions for making this work, they will require plumbing skills. If you don't have them, get flexible couplings like I did. They worked great and only cost about 15 bucks when it was all said and done. (see black couplers on ends of hoses in photos)
