This leather journal is off the charts and absolutely exceeded my expectations in every way. I don’t generally leave reviews, but I felt compelled to do so with this product. I literally use it every day. I use it for my morning journaling and for my sketches (I’m a wannabe artist lol).I want to start with the presentation because it is so classy. It comes in a very fancy looking gift box (sealed in plastic wrapping). I actually use the box to store the journal and some of my pens in. Once you open up the box you see the hidden treasure that is this leather bound notebook. It honestly is a work of art! The journal is also sealed in plastic wrapping (so you know it arrives in perfect shape). When you take the journal out of its wrapping, you get a waft of that great real crazy horse leather smell.Speaking of the leather, it is extremely high quality. Very soft and has a rustic vintage look to it. Something about the style and feel of this journal just inspires be to write and draw and gets my creative juices flowing. It is leather bound and has a cool leather strap which allows you to keep it closed and secure.It is a perfect size at 7 x 5 inches. It’s described as a traveler’s journal or diary and that is exactly what I would consider it as you can take it with you everywhere you go. I like the fact that I can bring it with me throughout the day in case I get inspired.The best part of all may be the quality of the paper. You can tell it is handmade paper, very smooth and perfect thickness. I have lot of experience with journals and notepads and this is the best quality paper I’ve seen.I also like the story behind the meaning of the journal with the embossed Celtic knot of journey and return. Not only is it a cool looking symbol, it is perfect for someone like me who likes to capture my “journey” through my writing and my art.Oh, and there is also a pen holder on the inside of the journal which is nifty for storing whatever pen I’m using.I can pretty much guarantee you will not find a better quality leather journal than this. It should be way more expensive, it is a steal for the price!

Beautiful design, thick leather not too flimsy. Although the only bad thing is the paper is a bit thin. Over all very nice product

This journal is over the top nice! I am a big journal and pen nut and this is seriously the best journal I've ever had hands down. The leather is definitely real and super high quality. Has a soft feel to it and if you mark it or scratch it you can just rub it out and has that nice real leather smell to it too. I love the embossed Celtic knot on the front. Apparently it is the Celtic Sailor's of journey and return which they explain in a nice insert they give you which all comes in a very classy box. The paper is excellent quality. I use all types of pens when I write (including fountain pens) and the writing is smooth as can be. It's a perfect size to be able to take with you to work, the coffee shop, hiking, wherever you want. I am definitely going to be buying these as gifts for the holidays. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone!

Huge fan of this journal. The look, the feel, even the smell. The paper is quality, with no bleed through so far (I've been using it for two weeks and use a 0.7 rosewood ballpoint) with plenty of pages to fill. Ample space for sketches as well. One of the best things I can say is that they had the foresight to include a cardboard sleeve around the paper to absorb the staining from the leather after production. It's a small thing but was the biggest reason I didn't choose a similar product when reading reviews while shopping. Excellent job Golden State Ink, I look forward to filling this journal. You've got a future repeat customer here.

I was already a fan of this brand Golden State Ink, as I love their fountain pens. So when I saw they offered this journal, I jumped on the chance to get one. It is amazing quality just like their pens. I actually think it looks even better in person than in the pictures. The leather is so soft and the paper is very high quality. The paper is easy to write on and there is no bleeding or showing through. This is my go to gift for the holidays!

I finally broke down and got myself a journal. I've been searching for awhile and came across this leather journal. It is very well made, nice pen came with and a very handsome box that you can keep and reuse. I would def and will...use again. Just need to start filling it up first.

This journal is awesome. Very high quality construction. I use a fountain pen for daily journaling and there is no bleeding with the paper. The leather is very soft and has a great scent to it. It also comes with a cool looking box I use to store it in. I highly recommend!
