Really useful to have to hand whenever it's needed. It has worked when I've used it and I'm glad I have it readily available when the weather changes. I have not had severe icy weather so I it has not been tested in very tough conditions so I can't say how effective it would be in that. It can be a bit messy and make sure you've a decent mat to clean your shoes before entering the house. Feels more sandy than salty but worked ok in mildly icy temperatures. I will keep a supply ready for use.
