The neck of the mug has a interior thread of only one level. Consider a screw which could have from ten to thirty levels for threads does enabling these types of fasteners to be permanent bonds. In contrast to this Civago 50, the Big Bubba (different designed shape) has three levels of internal threads giving it a sufficient seal whereby the lid never popped off accidently from the body of the mug. With only one level of internal thread, the Civago is most difficult to properly screw securely and if one is filling it with hot coffee and tries shaking the mug to mix the ingredients, one could unexpectantly experience and explosion of hot coffee to spray over you and everything else in the area. This is a poor and unnecessary design of the Civago and could have been avoided if it merely had two to three more internal thread levels. Civago even goes on to warn buyers to not put hot or effervescent liguids in their mug for this very reason of possible explosion. I have learned that as you attempt to screw on the lid, if one will grip the lips of the lid and give it a slight pull and/or roll with your hand and the lid just pops off, then you saved yourself from one of these inherent explosions. Keep trying until you cannot lightly pop the lid off before attempting to trust the seal. This is a really big fallacy and nuisance with the Civago.I do not see any advantage of designing the mug in the shape of a bottle by having a shoulder at the top of the body of the mug. This means the lid will be smaller than other mugs (compared to the Big Bubba) and may be the reason why there is only one level of thread for the the seal. This design does not hinder the cleaning of the mug as one can easily swab under the shoulder internally in the mug with a bottle brush. The only perceived advantage of having a reduced opening might be the fact that the lid more resembles the lids of the much smaller tumblers on the market affording some potential universal cross-sharing with other drink containers. A more logical conclusion would be that the manufacturer already had the molds and dies for the smaller lids thus forcing the neccessity to design of the body to be reduced at the top.The stationary stability of the mug is phenomenal but the size of the mug means there is no automobile cupholder out there (in any vehicle or third party adapter) to securely hold the Civago while driving. One is either going to drive with one hand while constantly holding the Civago in the other hand or one will need to handcraft/improvise/adapt other holders or materials to secure the Civago while driving. If you are using this at home/office/construction/work/relaxing then you are good to go. Just be wary of the inherent design traits before buying this product.

The Civago 50oz mug I would say has to be just about perfect for what I was looking for in a good work out and lounge around mug that would keep a decent amount of liquid cold for a few hours.And it does just that. I wanted something that would hold a tray of ice and around two 16.9 oz water bottles worth of cold flavored water.Also stay cold for at least 4-5 hours.To my surprise, it stays ice cold all day. 8-10 hours is no problem.The twist on leak proof cap sure beats the press down cap that some others have.Also the opening that you drink from is a nice size and gives youa good amount of liquid we’re some others just trickle into your mouth.There are 2 metal straws included. But I prefer drinking from the flip cap.The only other mug that comes close is the BIG Bubba mug but it doesn’t stay ice cold all day. And its bigger size makes it more awkward than the Civago.It does everything I want it to do and it’s much cheaper than even some lower capacity insulated mugs.

I am a night owl~ and I drink coffee all night first of all this cup holds enough coffee for the evening, and surprisingly keeps the heat very well! only thing and this is a problem with almost any cup I guess is by morning the coffee has curdled and become un-drinkable and this results in the cup needing a deep very hot water cleaning after each use but other than that~ I have not had a "more" perfect cup, the size I have is 50 oz and is very manageable for home use but it is not a "travel mug" at this size! I give it five stars

I am really enjoying this cup. It keeps drinks cold for about 24 hours. I fill it up with water and i have a refreshing drink all day. I like the metal straws because it adds a extra level of coldness to your drink. I haven't tried anything warm. It doesn't leak either and no sweating so you can leave it on handmade wood tables or expensive tables and no rings will be on it. Def a must try. Oh and it comes with a cleaning brush

This the best Tumbler Mug I have ever owned. I have a Bubba and this Civago exceeded it by 100%. I am so pleased at how cold it keeps. The colors are amazing. I bought 4. It is so cold it puts a chill to my tough in a great way. I will buy again and recommend. Don't let the negative reviews change your mind. you will not be disappointed. Civado you are the best I have EVER had:) Oh and It stays cold for a least 2 days make sure you put the ice at least half or more.

I love this mug so will I have bought 3 for myself and given 2 as gifts. Haven't try it with anything hot but it will keep things cold for over 24 hours. I also love the straws that come with them. The only complaint is not being able to get more straws the same size.

It was great when I first used the mug. Now it sweats at the lid and leaks at the spout. When I first used it, I tested it to see if it would leak upside down. It never leaked or sweated before and now it does.
