C9 Socket SPT2 (100 PCS.) - C9 Replacement Sockets green SPT-2

The only good thing I have to say about these sockets is that they were available via Amazon Prime quickly. However, the quality is horrible. Over a dozen of the sockets were missing plastic on part of the base - seemingly because the molten plastic did not fill the injection mold during fabrication. I am using SP2 cable that I've used for several other projects and has never failed, but it seems slightly too large for these sockets. I ended up making a wooden dowel jig that I inserted into each socket and then used channel lock pliers to force the cap onto the socket. Even on this project, I had no problems with this cable when adding male and female plugs from a different manufaturer. As another reviewer mentioned, the metal contacts are horrible. After making a couple dozen sockets and testing with bulbs, I later had about a dozen fail due to the contacts pulling out of the wire or the tab that touches the bulb center (hot contact) lost contact and could not be salvaged.

The metal pieces inside fall out easily or move around and don't pierce the wire. often enough i needed to crack it open and replace with another one when testing it once closed up. otherwise it works great

basically what I expected. not the sturdiest things but neither are others I have seen. price was competitive at least. will see how they do Xmas 2015 when I load them up.

As stated in other reviews, these are very low quality and do not work well. Hard to get on and they loose their connection very easily. Do not buy!

Product is as advertised. Will allow me to repair individual C9 Christmas light sockets rather then replace entire light string.
