Like the feel of this shifter vs the factory. Replaced it on my 2008 JK. Just watch the YouTube videos on how to remove the factory knobs, which is very simple. Just pull them right off. The set screw for this knob is under the rubber tread. It takes a small Allan wrench to tighten, very easy to install.

My only advice is to go out and get some blue thread lock for the screw that holds it secure. Tightened it the first time and the vibrations on the shifter while driving loosened the screw so that the knob would start to rattle and eventually be loose enough to be able to pull it off. Added some blue thread lock and tightened the screw again and left it overnight to cure. Hasn’t come loose since. Aside from that little tidbit, it’s a great aftermarket shift knob and I am very happy with my purchase.

The shift knob fits in my hand very well while shifting. I'm very pleased with this purchase. The hardest part about installation was removing the OEM shift knob. All you have to do is pull it straight up, but it took everything I had to pull it off! I almost gave up on trying to remove the OEM shift knob, but it finally popped free. Installation was a breeze from there.

I bought this and the 4WD shift knob too. They both look really cool and feel good to the hand. Easy install. Original knob just pulls off. This one has a set screw under the rubber surround on the knob. Gently lift rubber band off the knob and tighten up the set screw with a hex key. Too easy. Great add on.
