I hope you can whole picture. I am allergic to preservatives in lotions. This does not contain any. I have been using this for over 12 years with no side affects . I have very sensitive dry eyes .

Q: Do you leave it on after the application or do you wash it off?

Although you can leave it on , I don't. This is because the objective is to remove debris from the upper and lower eyelid. If you visit the optician who has the eyelid cleaning kit this will literally clean the eyelids to remove debris/bacteria.
