You can tell it's good quality food as soon as you peel back the lid, no smell and it looks appetising even to a human, lovely moist shredded chicken and my dog absolutely loves it, I have a very fussy malshi who turns her nose up at most foods but not this one, it is expensive and B&M do their own version called Regale which is a hell of a lot cheaper but contains more rice which my dog picks out and leaves, this is much better for her, no picking out bits, so if your dog doesn't mind a bit more rice go for the Regale brand, otherwise this is a great option albeit a lot more expensive

Encore is the only food my dog will eat. Fresh food and very good quality

I would have given this dog food five stars apart from one issue. My dogs love it - one of them won't eat anything but this! I checked with my vet as it states on the tin that it only contains chicken and rice and I wanted to be sure they were getting all the nutrients they need. He assured me that they were. However, my gripe is that most of the time the content is packed very tightly with plenty of chicken which is great but occasionally there is a lot of broth in the tin and the chicken and rice is very sloppy. This makes it difficult to ensure they are getting the right amount of protein. I have also noticed that this seems to happen in batches so that one case of twelve tins is great but the next one may be all sloppy tins. This seems to be happening more and more recently - when I first started purchasing this product I never noticed this problem. With a premium product this sort of issue should not arise.
