4x4x4 64 LED cube kit (Green)

Just as good in green!
This is the second one I have built, first one was blue. They are very good, especially considering the price.BUT, I have discovered a small design flaw: my blue one worked ok but would flicker now and then, especially on the bottom row of LED’s, also the green one would hardly run at all with the sequences stalling and the later sequences missed all together!!Don’t worry though, I have found the problem: if your power supply is not completely clean it makes the processor do very strange things like outlined above! To cure this I have soldered a 100uF reservoir capacitor across the +5v and GND at the connector - see attached photo. The voltage rating can be anything 10v or above but you want to keep the capacitor as physically small as possible. Remember that an electrolytic capacitor is polarised, so -ve end to GND, and I would put some sleeving over the longer -ve lead to avoid chance of short circuit. This fix solves all the instability problems and would advise that the design be modified to include this.

Led cube
I've done three of these now and they are really enjoyable to build, so I thought this last one I would build with the purpose of programming the cube myself from the site but I have been unable to fine any help with the coding there which is very disappointing.
