This UV-C wand WORKS!!
This UV-C germicidal sanitizing wand really does work. The fact that one can sanitize surfaces without harmful chemicals and it's been proven ultraviolet light is effective in disrupting microbial spread and infection. Follow the instructions that come with the wand. Hold the UV-C wand 1 to 2 inches from the object of disinfection for 5 to 10 seconds. 20 seconds max to "make sure" it's bacteria free. I took the added reassurance of purchasing visualizer strips to ensure the wand is indeed working properly. I got a positive color change from yellow to green to let me know this ultraviolet light is up and operational!

Don't know if it really works to protect you from any type of adverse exposure.
Did not pass through TSA without opening carry-on bag and being asked it's use. Would suggest packing the unit in checked baggage. Concerns: Not sure if it is really doing anything positive about contamination from bacteria or viruses. Makes you feel better that you tried something to improve health during travel. Good placebo effect.

Don’t waste your money just buy clorax/Lysol wipes
This device was disappointing because the area of UV light was about 2inches. I took it with me when I went on vacation and was so excited that I have a tool that could kill viruses and bacteria. I was so disappointed when I read the directions and realized that I had to be approximately 2 inches above and hold the wand in place for about 20 seconds in every square inch of area to be sanitized. I tried to do the bed and it would have taken me the rest of the vacation. When I tried to sanitize the light switches, the safety feature kept turning the wand off(this is so you don’t direct the UV light into your eyes or anyone else’s) I ended up sending the wand back and they refunded me without any issues.

Easy to use, unsure if it's doing anything
The best feature is that you can't accidentally blind yourself, it will shut off. with that being said, some angles are difficult and may trigger the auto shut off. requires some clever hand angle to get it. Do i know if it's killing bacteria and viruses, who knows. Do i still use it on items that are hard to Lysol, yep. Better to have an added layer of cleanliness.

It's alright however I would not purchase the same size.
Thought the wand was larger. There is no travel case so carrying it in a box is bulky.

Wand didn't work
Wand looks great; batteries were easy to install; wand simply wouldn't turn on. My husband's an engineer - we double, triple checked the device - still no luck. Sharper Image usually has great products. Will return for refund.
