Dissapointing
I purchased this to control a Zetligt Lancia ZP4000 light unit as I liked the idea of the various lighting modes and thought it would add a new dynamic to my planted tank and be a bit more natural for my fish. The setup process using the Horizon app is okay, although not as simple as it could be. The matching process never seems to complete, you just have to exit after a bit.Once connected, the light can be controlled using the timers and the app’s interface works pretty well. Here are some of the issues I have with it:1. It is not possible to control the red LEDs in the same way you can control the blues ones. This means that the dawn and dusk functions look pretty much exactly the same as the early morning and night settings.2. The cloud and lightning simulations - when activated - put the light into daytime mode. So if the light was on any mode other than the day setting, the brightness gets set to full first.3. The lunar phase and moonlight modes seems to just set the blue LEDs to full which looks very unnatural.Am pretty sure all the above issues could be fixed with a firmware or app update. If this ever happens, I’ll happily update this review accordingly.I’ve emailed Zetlight a couple of times for support without any response, so I’m not holding out much hope. The controller might work better when connected to one of the other Zetlight LED units but it doesn’t with the one I’ve got (despite claiming that it does on their website). So if you were planning to buy this (along with the other bit you need - the I200) to control your ZP4000 light unit, and you’re happy that it’s essentially just a timer with a couple of dimming settings, go ahead.
