Fabulous parka.
This brand is very well made. I have the same coat but in a shorter version. It has to be at least 15 years old now and I just started having trouble with the zipper. You can’t go wrong with this. I wear a couple of layers under it and a scarf because I get colder than most people. It keeps the wind and cold out.

Nice quality and warm
My dad and I both had this style jacket 40 years ago. As a daddy's girl...I had to match my daddy! 😀 His was actually Airforce issued.I looked for a long time for one, now that I'm an adult, and finally found it. It makes me happy to see in my closet....the minute I see the orange lining against the Navy coat color with the faux fur around the hood....I think of my childhood and my dad. It's a very warm coat...we live in SE Wisconsin. I got the ladies version. I ordered the men's for my husband. The men's is a warmer coat. I don't know what's different, but it is warmer than mine. Slightly heavier? So if you ladies want or need a slightly warmer coat for actually working in the elements....you may just try the men's instead. But mine is fine and comfortable for walks and going about from car to buildings, etc.I got the women's medium. I'm 5'3" and about 135 lbs.

Fantastic winter coat!
I've been wearing this coat all week during the deep freeze in Austin, and it's kept me toasty warm walking for several hours in 10-20 degree temps. I don't have much cold tolerance (see: Austin) so I layer it over a base layer, flannel shirt, wool sweater and a hat and I've never been so cozy. The fur inside the hood is wonderful and soft, and the jacket is very light for how warm it is. Highly recommend! Also I'm not sure why folks seem to be having issues with the sizing - I'm a 40" hip and a 35" bust and the small is great, even with all the layers.

Doesn't look like the picture
This product was warm and well constructed but bulky and tight at the same time. At 5'7" 135 lbs and athletic build, I'm typically a size small but the top was very tight on my 34dd chest and the sleeves were a bit short and my butt was barely covered. There were vent pockets up by the chest too. If my hands were cold i'd basically be walking around hold looking like i was holding my boobs. When I sized up to medium, too much air could come up the bottom of the coat and the boob pockets still hit at the boob. This coat would look much better on a very short small chested girl. In fact, it appears that's the precise build in mind. Pity. The construction of this coat is a dream, the execution of the design a nightmare.

Perfect!
I did a lot of research before buying this jacket. Put it into my cart about a month ago, and yesterday it went down to 1/2 off! Winning!Haven't tried it out in the cold yet, but it fits great (size down!), is very comfy even sitting down, and feels heavy enough to keep my cold little body warm in my first winter back from living in the tropics.I love the style. Started out searching for a "snorkel coat" like those from Sears in my 1970's childhood, and finally found this one. Color is right on, too - navy blue with orange inside.Pockets should have been open on the back instead of top, but they will still work for walking.A great buy/ find. Will report back when it gets cold.

This is the warmest jacket I have ever owned. And I live someplace very cold so I've owned quite a few. It's super heavy. I have had no issues with the zipper at all. Have had the jacket for a couple months now. Still love it.Update: I've had this jacket for almost 4 years now. Drug it out to wear with the frigid weather a few weeks ago. The zipper seems to have started snagging sometime between when I put it away this past spring to when I took it back out. BUT it still works. And after 4 years I really am not complaining. Still pleased with my purchase. Worth the money. Longer lasting than any other jacket I've owned in that same timeframe.

Love it!!
I love this coat! I've had my eye on it online for a while, but was unsure of the color as sometimes it looked super bright ( I got the Commander red).So glad I finally decided to buy it. It's a dark red without being burgundy. So pretty, and I got so many compliments!I work on movie sets and needed something warm for night shoots. I'm 5'4" 120lbs and I got the small. It fits well with room for layers underneath. The hood is amazingly warm and comfy too. Makes a great travel pillow on a plane. I highly recommend this coat.

These Alpha jackets are one of the best made and highest quality jackets I've ever come across
These Alpha jackets are one of the best made and highest quality jackets I've ever come across. Heavy and seems very warm. I love the thick nylon outer material. Really beautiful pieces. That being said it is the weirdest fitting jacket ever. Its tight at the hips and extremely loose at the shoulders, chest and arms. Not very noticeable when open but it looks ridiculous once you zip it up. I bought four different models determined to find one that isn't cut so strangely. Unfortunately i will have to send all four of them back. Very disappointing cause i know i wont find anything of this quality for a reasonable price or for that matter for three times this price. I usually wear xs (5'2" 125lbs and athletic) and i ordered the xs in these jackets. Maybe a taller female frame might be able to pull off the mis-cut of this jacket....?

Looks good and keeps you warm in wind-chill -20
When the box arrived, it was so much lighter than my Macage coat, I was dubious. I bought this for going into the woods with my students and needed something washable (ignore the dry cleaning - it’s washable) as we light fires and my coat gets a smokey smell. I just love it. The huge hood keeps the wind from your face. The coat is warm, but lightweight and roomy enough for extra layers should you need them. I am 53 yrs old ,5’9”, 145lb and have a fairly straight athletic figure; I took a medium-size and it fits. I live in Toronto - and with snowpants and an extra layer, this works in minus 20 degrees centigrade, and by itself on all other days.

LOVE my parka worn all winter long
LOVE my parka worn all winter long, kept me warm but sadly the ZIPPER just broke (figures, winter season is just approaching) the zipper split from the bottom when I was getting into a car. SO DISAPPOINTED. Great jacket for the winter, as I walk a LOT. Keeps wind and rain/snow out.

Worth the Money
I'd never spent much on winter coats, as people always gave me their old ones or I found decent ones at charity shops and kept them til the zipper broke. But after moving back to a VERY cold climate, I decided a cold-weather coat was necessary. This coat is comfortable, fits well, and most importantly, is incredibly warm. The hood is huge, so if it's a windy, blizzardy day, you can walk quite a distance and not be bothered by the weather. I still hate winter, but this coat makes me dread it less.

Metal zipper, lift your jacket before you bend over!
Would have preferred to have a plastic zipper, the metal teeth on the zipper frequently bend out of place and then get jammed.
