Compact, great quality and a fantastic price. Makes cooking a joy.
This is the first time i have used anything from the Iwatani brand, i bought this to go with the Iwatani CB-P-TAF takoyaki pan. Made my first batch of takoyaki today and i'm extremely impressed. The hob is very compact and yet it kicks out some great heat so the pan got to the perfect temperature very quickly. The dial also offers great cooking control, made it a joy to cook. It may feel light but it's very well made you can remove the entire hob top if you need to clean which is really useful. The only thing i will say is the plastic feet can be a little slippy if you set it on a worktop, might be a good idea to put it on a non slip mat when using it.All in all a fantastic little hob, glad i purchased it.Now looking waiting for the okonomiyaki plate to arrive so i can use it to make even more Japanese dishes.

Beware import duty and delivery charges
Excellent product, easy to use and handles my large wok perfectly. However, I was less than impressed by having to pay the Royal Mail £20 for import duty and delivery charges that I had not expected.Overall, well worth the (additional) money - it really is good.

Instructions are Japanese only, no English
The unit itself is great: lightweight, stable, well made, puts out plenty of heat, super easy to use… I can't find any fault with it. If you've used old rickety portable/camping gas burners before, this is light years ahead. However, the instructions are exclusively in Japanese. Any idiot can figure out how to work the thing, but I'm honestly surprised that this is legal for sale in the UK without English-language safety info given that it's a gas stove.

Great for Thai and Chinese Food.
I bought this model from Iwatani because I couldn't justify spending nearly £100 for their other model. I like Thai and Chinese food so a wok is used regularly by me. I have a round bottomed wok which I could never use on my halogen hob so it was down to a flat bottomed one which I don't really like. This little stove is perfect for what I want - controllable heat that cooks quickly. A must for Asian food. It is economical to use as well. Very well made in Japan, easy to use and easy to clean - what's not to like?

Smell gas when off.
This is a good stove, boils water fast and can be used to cook the same kind of food that you would cook on a regular stove.used it with propane and butane but it is low quality. screws coming loose after couple of weeks, also I left the propane tank connected over night and it smells like gas.

Fit for purpose
Basically a smarter looking camping stove that I use in the kitchen. Lightweight and easy to use - gas canisters click in very easily and ignition is smooth. Have used it about 6 times (stir fry, boiled eggs, potatoes) with just 1 canister emptied - haven’t done a comparison with my solid electric hob but that’s at a cost of approx £1.87 so around 31p a cook. One negative is that smaller pans i.e. milk pan size, do balance a little precariously on the top - on the opposite scale though I have used a wok on it and that fits really nicely, as do all of my other saucepans.

shaky switch
I just received this. It's quite light and lovely. I haven't used it yet. But the switch is a little shaky,as shown in the pics. I don't know if others have the same problem.
